We are looking for a Senior Data Scientist to join a public sector project supporting data analytics, predictive modelling, data modernization, and geospatial analysis.

Key Responsibilities
- Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, patterns, relationships, and actionable insights.
- Develop and apply predictive models, statistical models, machine learning solutions, and analytical frameworks.
- Identify business problems that can be addressed through data analysis and translate business requirements into analytical solutions.
- Work with large structured, semi-structured, unstructured, spatial, and non-spatial datasets.
- Perform data mining, statistical analysis, data modelling, and data quality assessments.
- Integrate data from multiple sources to support planning, compliance, reporting, and evidence-based decision-making.
- Develop dashboards, reports, visualizations, and geospatial solutions for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Collaborate with business stakeholders, GIS specialists, business analysts, information management teams, project teams, and technical resources.
- Apply emerging technologies and innovative analytical approaches to complex business challenges.
- Prepare technical documentation, data dictionaries, source-to-target mappings, data flow diagrams, and business reports.
Must-Have Skills & Experience
- Strong experience in data analytics, statistical analysis, data mining, predictive analytics, and data modelling
- Strong knowledge of relational databases, database architecture, data management, data governance, metadata, data lineage, ETL, data warehousing, and data integration
- Advanced SQL skills for accessing, extracting, transforming, and analyzing data
- Proficiency with Python, R, or equivalent tools for data analysis, modelling, automation, and data transformation
- Experience with analytics and visualization platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, R Shiny, ArcGIS, or equivalent
- Experience working with geospatial/spatial data and geospatial analysis
- Experience analyzing and integrating spatial and non-spatial datasets
- Experience identifying and resolving data quality issues including duplicates, inconsistencies, missing values, and invalid data
- Strong experience developing predictive models, business intelligence solutions, and analytical frameworks
- Experience working with large and complex datasets
- Experience with Git or other code version control systems
- Knowledge of data modernization, digitization, data migration, and legacy/historical datasets
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and decision-making skills
