Role Description
The AI / ML Engineer will design, build, and optimize machine learning models that power PPLIED’s matching, recommendation, and automation capabilities. In this full-time remote role, the engineer will develop and evaluate algorithms for pattern recognition in candidate and job data, implement neural network architectures, and improve model accuracy and efficiency using statistical methods. Day-to-day responsibilities include experimenting with new approaches, collaborating with product and engineering teams to integrate models into production systems, monitoring model performance, and ensuring scalable, reliable deployment. The role also involves maintaining clean, well-documented code, contributing to data pipelines, and staying current with advances in AI and machine learning relevant to hiring technology.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science and Algorithms, with experience designing and implementing efficient, scalable solutions.
- Applied expertise in Pattern Recognition and Statistics for building, evaluating, and improving data-driven models.
- Hands-on experience with Neural Networks, including training, tuning, and deploying models for real-world applications.
- Proficiency in one or more programming languages commonly used in ML (e.g., Python), and familiarity with ML frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn).
- Experience working with data pipelines, feature engineering, and model evaluation metrics in production environments.
- Ability to work independently in a remote setting, collaborate effectively across teams, and communicate complex technical concepts clearly.
- Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Background in recommender systems, search, or matching algorithms, and prior experience in HR tech or marketplace platforms is a plus.
