Role Description The Design Engineer will work on-site in the Greater Chicago Area in a full-time capacity, contributing to the development and improvement of products and systems. Day-to-day tasks include creating and refining mechanical and electrical designs, preparing detailed CAD models and drawings, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure design feasibility and manufacturability. The role involves participating in design reviews, performing basic calculations and analyses, and supporting prototyping and testing to validate design performance. The Design Engineer will also assist in documenting design specifications, addressing engineering change requests, and working closely with stakeholders to meet project timelines and quality standards.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Design Engineering and Product Design, with the ability to translate requirements into practical, efficient solutions.
- Proficiency in Mechanical Engineering and related principles for designing and optimizing mechanical components and assemblies.
- Experience with Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools for creating detailed models, drawings, and technical documentation.
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Electrical Engineering concepts for integrating electrical elements into product designs.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Design Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Ability to work on-site in the Greater Chicago Area, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and a willingness to learn and adapt to new tools and processes.
- Experience with prototyping, testing, or manufacturing processes is beneficial.
