Role Description The Forward Deployed Engineer is a full-time remote role responsible for working closely with customers and internal teams to design, build, and deploy software solutions that leverage PPLIED’s platform. In this position, you will translate real-world hiring and matching challenges into technical requirements, implement back-end services and integrations, and ensure solutions are reliable, secure, and scalable. You will collaborate with product and engineering to customize workflows, optimize performance, and troubleshoot production issues. Day-to-day tasks include coding, testing, reviewing code, monitoring deployed systems, and iterating quickly based on user feedback. The role also involves clear communication with non-technical stakeholders to explain technical decisions and gather requirements.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Computer Science, including algorithms, data structures, and systems concepts.
- Proficiency in Software Development and Programming, with experience in at least one modern language (e.g., Python, Java, JavaScript, Go, or similar).
- Hands-on experience in Back-End Web Development, including APIs, databases, and distributed systems.
- Solid understanding of Object-Oriented Programming (OOP) principles and best practices.
- Ability to work directly with customers, gather requirements, and translate them into technical solutions.
- Experience deploying and maintaining applications in cloud environments (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) is preferred.
- Comfort with version control tools (e.g., Git) and modern development workflows (CI/CD, code reviews, testing).
- Strong problem-solving skills, clear written and verbal communication, and readiness to operate in a fast-paced startup environment.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
