MAU is hiring an Indirect Tax Compliance Analyst for our client in Charleston, SC. As an Indirect Tax Analyst, you will support the global indirect tax compliance lifecycle, including sales, use, and property tax activities, reconciliations, audits, research, and related internal requests. This is a direct-hire opportunity.

Shift Information

- Hybrid schedule

- Tuesday–Thursday: Onsite

- Monday and Friday: Remote

- Fully remote candidates are not an option for this position

Required Education and Experience

- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance

- Up to three years of experience in sales and property taxes with multi-jurisdictional exposure

Preferred Education and Experience

- VAT tax compliance experience

- Experience with Vertex and SAP

General Requirements

- Fundamental understanding of the global indirect tax compliance process, including sales, use, and property filings

- Familiarity with sales tax compliance software and ERP systems

- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills

- Process improvement/continuous improvement mindset

- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills

- Eagerness to learn and contribute in a fast-paced environment

- Self-starting drive

Essential Functions

As an Indirect Tax Analyst, you will:

- Support the global indirect tax compliance lifecycle, including coordination with third-party service providers

- Prepare reconciliations of all sales, use, and property tax accounts

- Resolve indirect tax-related notices from various tax jurisdictions with guidance

- Support sales and property tax audits, including working closely with other internal departments and location personnel, along with external consultants that may be involved in the review

- Conduct preliminary tax research using available tax research tools

- Support internal requests to resolve tax-related customer inquiries and business unit procurement processes

- Review, validate, and support the management of exemption certificates
