Role Overview
We are looking for an experienced Senior Agile Scrum Master to own the Agile delivery cadence for a large, distributed POD.
The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience facilitating Scrum ceremonies, managing JIRA/ADO, tracking Agile metrics, removing impediments, and coordinating cross-functional teams across onsite and offshore locations.
You will also play a key role in coaching the team on Agile best practices and driving continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Facilitate all Scrum ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
Own and maintain JIRA / Azure DevOps (ADO) boards and ensure proper sprint hygiene.
Track and report burndown, velocity, sprint health, risks, and delivery metrics.
Identify, track, and proactively remove team impediments.
Manage dependencies and coordinate effectively between onsite and offshore teams.
Coach team members on Agile and Scrum principles, practices, and best practices.
Drive continuous improvement across team processes and delivery practices.
Partner with the Business Analyst and Tech Lead on backlog refinement, prioritisation, and sprint readiness.
Monitor sprint progress and proactively highlight delivery risks and dependencies.
Provide regular updates on sprint health, progress, risks, and impediments to programme leadership.
Support effective communication and collaboration across distributed, cross-functional teams.
Promote a culture of transparency, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
Required Skills & Experience
12–14+ years of overall IT / software delivery experience.
Minimum 4+ years of dedicated experience as a Scrum Master / Agile Lead.
Proven experience managing Scrum for large or multi-stream cross-functional teams.
Strong hands-on experience with JIRA and/or Azure DevOps (ADO).
Good understanding of Agile metrics, sprint reporting, velocity, and burndown charts.
Strong experience in impediment and dependency management.
Excellent facilitation and stakeholder management skills.
Experience working with distributed onsite/offshore teams.
Comfortable coordinating across different time zones, including US and India teams.
Strong understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and practices.
Excellent communication, leadership, coaching, and problem-solving skills.
Preferred / Nice to Have
CSM (Certified ScrumMaster) certification.
PSM (Professional Scrum Master) certification.
SAFe Scrum Master certification.
Experience with Agile transformation or Agile coaching.
Experience in Insurance / Underwriting or other regulated industries.
Experience working in large-scale enterprise technology delivery environments.
