Position: Hospitality Associate
Full-Time or Part-Time: Seasonal Part-Time, 24 hours up to a maximum of 39.5 hours per week
Hourly Wage Rate: $23.26 per hour
Anticipated Normal Work Schedule
Sunday to Wednesday: 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM
Saturday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
OR
Sunday to Wednesday: 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM
Thursday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM
Note: This schedule is subject to change. Incumbents will be required to work nights and weekends. We are hiring to fill both schedules, please indicate which position schedule you are applying for.
Job Description Summary
As a Hospitality Associate, you will be representing McMaster University Hospitality Services.
Must be able to maintain cleanliness and tidiness of shelves, work areas, floors, walls, counters, and equipment.
Knowledge of food service stations for station coverage.
Must be able to efficiently perform kitchen duties including chopping lettuce, peeling and cutting fruit and vegetables.
Must be able to efficiently assemble sandwiches, salads, wraps, and cups.
May be required to assist with Centro operations when needed.
Must be able to display finished products for sale attractively and professionally.
All products produced must meet quality standards.
Organize work in a timely manner with little or no supervision.
Maintain accurate temperature, cleaning, and sanitizing logs.
Must follow all recipes accurately, ensuring ingredient amounts meet specifications.
Receive and store products, including lifting, rotating stock, disposing of garbage, and washing dishes.
Maintain cleanliness and tidiness of shelves, work areas, floors, walls, counters, and all equipment.
Understand and deliver good customer service.
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs on a regular basis.
Must be able to work well as a team member and independently.
May be required to take a knife test.
Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor or manager.
Education & Experience
Food preparation experience and asset.
Minimum of 2 years of experience in the food industry.
Must have good communication, reading, writing, and English skills.
