Campus Location: MUSC

Classification: 1-General

Position: Hospitality Associate (Receiver/Dishwasher)

Full-Time or Part-Time: Seasonal Part-Time, minimum 24 hours per week, up to 39.5 hours per week

Hourly Wage Rate: $23.26 per hour

Anticipated Normal Work Schedule

Monday to Thursday: 8:00 AM to 1:30 PM

Friday: 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM

Note: This schedule is subject to change. Incumbents may be required to work nights and weekends.

Job Description Summary

As a Hospitality Associate, you will be representing McMaster University Hospitality Services.

Must adhere to Hospitality Policies and procedures.

Must be able to lift 50 lbs on a consistent basis.

Check and receive incoming product deliveries to ensure invoiced products are received.

Assist supervisor in checking and maintaining inventory and maintaining organization of walk-in refrigeration, freezer units, and dry storage areas.

Deliver product/prepared food from various prep areas to La Piazza stations.

Wash all cooking utensils, small wares, pots, pans, and customer trays.

Clean and maintain dish and pot washing equipment.

Maintain cleanliness of all cooking equipment.

Maintain proper garbage, compost, and recycling levels and clean garbage, compost, and recycling containers.

Responsible for maintaining customer dish drop-off areas and transporting soiled items to the dish room.

Required to stock customer grab-and-go items, including beverages.

Communicate effectively with co-workers to ensure stations are well stocked with food and supplies.

Greet customers in a friendly and courteous manner.

Maintain sanitation, health, and safety standards in work areas, including scheduled equipment and unit cleaning.

Perform all duties of any job classification equivalent or lower, filling in wherever needed to assist in meeting customer service requirements.

Ability to work well as a team member and independently.

Organize and coordinate work in a timely manner with little supervision.

Ability to work under pressure.

Multi-task efficiently and accurately in a fast-paced environment.

Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Education & Experience

Previous experience in a high-production-volume environment is preferred.

Must have good communication, reading, writing, and English skills.
