Job Title: L10 Product Development Engineer - FA (Night Shift)

Location: Santa Clara, CA (Onsite, Night Shift)

Employment Type: Contract / Contract-to-Hire (as applicable)

About the Role

Join the Operations NPI/Product Development Engineering team to support hardware server testing, debugging, and failure analysis in a night-shift lab environment. You will triage server platform failures, perform root-cause analysis, and enable smooth factory and NPI operations for datacenter platforms.

Key Responsibilities

- Perform first-level hardware triage and troubleshooting for server platforms (HGX/DGX/MGX or similar).

- Debug server platforms per published guidelines; perform minor rework, retesting, and recovery of units.

- Review logfiles and make initial triage decisions; escalate with clear daily status and build reports.

- Support hardware board bring-up, diagnostics, and test development for complex systems and interfaces (PCIe, Ethernet, NVLink, InfiniBand, I2C/SPI, USB, etc.).

- Develop and maintain test automation and diagnostic scripts using Shell/Python.

- Install and validate OS, firmware, and software stacks; work in bare-metal and virtualized environments.

- Collaborate with HW/FW/SW engineering, manufacturing partners, and quality teams to drive yield and reliability improvements.

- Contribute to SOPs and documentation for assembly, test, debug, and failure analysis for internal/CM teams.

Required Qualifications

- 2+ years of experience in hardware server testing and debugging (datacenter servers or equivalent).

- Strong Linux proficiency (Ubuntu/RedHat/CentOS/etc.): command line, log analysis, troubleshooting.

- Hands-on experience with server platforms and major components (CPUs, GPUs, memory, storage, networking).

- Familiarity with diagnostics/test software used in factory/NPI settings and ability to review logfiles for triage.

- Scripting experience in Shell and/or Python for test automation and data collection.

- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills; able to produce clear daily reports.

Preferred Qualifications

- BS/MS in Electrical/Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.

- Exposure to high-speed interfaces and protocols (PCIe, Ethernet, NVLink, InfiniBand, I2C/SPI).

- Experience with firmware/BIOS/BMC, OS installation, and basic rework in a lab environment.

- Familiarity with AI-assisted test/automation tools and agile workflows.

Work Conditions

- Night shift onsite in Santa Clara, CA; may require occasional domestic/international travel (typically 2-3 times per quarter) depending on program needs.

- Must comply with lab safety, ESD, and security policies.
