Regulatory Affairs plays a vital role for DNV Maritime and its customers in a period of rapid change and increasing regulatory complexity. We monitor international regulations and standards in organisations such as IMO, ILO, the EU and IACS contribute to their development, and share regulatory insight internally and externally.

We are now looking for students who are ready to start their journey with us in the summer 2027.

What will you work on:

You will support Regulatory Affairs in transforming regulatory developments into clear, customer-relevant compliance insights. You will also investigate how regulatory information and policy updates can be structured to better support AI-enabled processes.

Future maritime regulation insights

- Reviewing and improving the information structure and how regulatory developments are monitored.

- Mapping developments to relevant ship segments.

- Exploring how developments can be translated into customer-facing information through tools such as Compliance Planner

AI for Regulatory Affairs

- Testing AI-assisted approaches for summarising, categorising and analysing regulatory information.

- Evaluating strengths and limitations and developing prompts and workflows for recurring tasks.

- Investigating how policy updates can be structured to better support AI-enabled processes.

- Following developments related to autonomous shipping, maritime cyber security and facilitation.

- Identifying emerging trends and regulatory gaps and assessing implications for DNV and the maritime industry.

About you

Who are we looking for?

- A motivated and curious student with an interest in the maritime industry, regulations, sustainability or digitalisation, and a strong interest in exploring how digital tools and AI can create value in practice.

- A proactive and collaborative team player with the ability to work independently and take initiative when needed.

- The ability to analyse complex information and communicate it clearly in both written and spoken English.

- Relevant studies in maritime policy, law, engineering, sustainability, economics, data science, artificial intelligence or a related field.

We are primarily seeking students in the third or fourth year of a relevant Bachelor’s or Master’s programme.
