The Operations Manager (Base Maintenance) is responsible for overseeing the entire Base operations services group/s within an Aircraft Maintenance Organization (MRO). This role encompasses managing the UC/DUC of all BMs, its sub-contracted staff, and off-site deployed staff (AOG Support). He/ She is also in-charge of development of BM staff certifications & future additional expansion. The OM (Base Maintenance) will also provide leadership and oversight for the group’s heavy maintenance projects, managing their respective Gantt, timelines, and general direction to ensure On-Time-Performance. The ideal candidate will ensure that all support functions align with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, quality and safety standards, and maintain profitability.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in aircraft maintenance or MRO operations, with at least last 5 years in supervisory/ crew chief role.
- Proven records in leading and managing Operations, and or Sheet Metal, Composites, NDT, Paint, specialized support shops, GSE, and Tool store and driving organizational change.
- Has received and a holder of training certificates indicating completion on human factors principles, aircraft safety management seminars, and/or equivalent aircraft maintenance general familiarization courses. Has attended leadership programs.
- Certification in Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement, or Safety Management Systems (SMS) is an advantage.
- Extensive knowledge in aircraft maintenance processes.
- Well versed in aviation regulatory requirements (CAAP, EASA, FAA etc.) and safety management systems.
- Must demonstrate the ability to read, write, and communicate to an understandable level in English language in which the technical documentation and procedures necessary to support the issue of the certificate of maintenance written.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage stakeholders at all levels.
- Strong financial acumen with experience in budgeting, cost control, and resource management.
- Proficiency in maintenance management software (e.g., QUANTUM, AMOS, TRAX, RAMCO)
