A Diagnostic Manager is responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of a diagnostic centre or laboratory and ensuring that all diagnostic services are carried out smoothly, accurately, and efficiently. The role involves supervising staff, coordinating with doctors and patients, maintaining quality standards, managing equipment and supplies, and ensuring proper documentation and compliance with laboratory procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise the daily operations of the diagnostic centre/laboratory.
- Coordinate laboratory, radiology, and other diagnostic services as applicable.
- Supervise laboratory technicians, radiologists, reception staff, and other team members.
- Ensure accurate and timely processing and reporting of diagnostic tests.
- Maintain high standards of quality, hygiene, safety, and patient care.
- Monitor the performance of staff and provide guidance and support when required.
- Ensure proper maintenance and functioning of laboratory and diagnostic equipment.
- Manage inventory, reagents, consumables, and other required supplies.
- Maintain proper records, reports, registers, and documentation.
- Coordinate with doctors, hospitals, patients, and other healthcare professionals.
- Handle patient concerns and resolve operational issues professionally.
- Ensure compliance with applicable healthcare, laboratory, and safety guidelines.
- Monitor daily workload, revenue, expenses, and overall centre performance.
- Support staff training and ensure that standard operating procedures (SOPs) are followed.
- Identify operational problems and take appropriate corrective actions to improve efficiency and service quality.
