Position Summary
Verveba Telecom is seeking an experienced Foreman – Data Center & Telecom Infrastructure to provide onsite leadership for data center, fiber, structured cabling, OSP/ISP and network infrastructure projects throughout the United States.
This is a hands-on field leadership position responsible for managing technicians, coordinating daily work activities, driving production, maintaining installation quality and ensuring Verveba delivers assigned scopes safely and according to customer requirements.
The ideal candidate will have experience working in Data Centers, OSP/ISP environments, Central Offices (CO), MTSO facilities and other mission-critical telecom/network environments, with a strong understanding of BICSI installation practices and industry standards.
This position requires approximately 80% travel, with the ability to remain deployed at project locations for extended periods.
Many assignments will be long-term projects lasting several weeks or months, depending on customer and program requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Field Leadership & Crew Management
- Serve as Verveba's primary onsite field leader for assigned crews.
- Supervise technicians, installers, splicers and other field resources.
- Conduct daily crew meetings and communicate scope, priorities, safety requirements and production targets.
- Assign technicians to specific work areas and activities based on skill level and project requirements.
- Maintain accurate daily attendance and crew rosters.
- Ensure technicians arrive prepared with required PPE, tools and certifications.
- Manage technician questions, concerns and field issues without placing that responsibility on the customer.
- Identify performance, attendance or behavioral issues and escalate when necessary.
- Maintain professional discipline and accountability across the field team.
Installation & Field Execution
- Review SOWs, drawings, specifications and installation requirements before beginning work.
- Translate project requirements into clear daily work assignments for technicians.
- Coordinate daily activities with the Verveba Project Manager and customer field leadership.
- Track daily production against project targets and schedule.
- Identify blockers, material shortages, access issues and other field constraints.
- Verify installations are completed according to drawings, customer specifications and applicable standards.
- Maintain control of changing field conditions and ensure scope changes are documented before execution.
- Support installation activities directly when required.
Technical Experience
Candidates should have strong hands-on experience across several of the following:

- BICSI and TIA/EIA standards, installation practices and standards
- OSP – Outside Plant fiber infrastructure
- ISP – Inside Plant fiber infrastructure
- Central Office (CO) environments
- MTSO / telecom switching facilities
- Structured cabling systems
- High-count fiber installation
- Fiber pulling, routing, dressing and labeling
- MPO/MTP fiber infrastructure
- Ribbon and mass-fusion splicing
- Single-fiber splicing and termination
- OTDR and OLTS testing
- Fiber certification, troubleshooting and remediation
- OSP-to-MMR-to-ISP connectivity
- Cable tray, ladder rack, raceway and pathway systems
- Rack and cabinet installation
- Rack & stack / network equipment deployment
- Fiber patching and cross-connects
- Network equipment installation
- Migration, cutover and turn-up activities
- QA/QC, commissioning and punch-list remediation
- Day-2 infrastructure activities
Experience working in live network environments involving MOPs, maintenance windows, change controls and strict outage prevention procedures is highly desirable.
The Foreman is expected to be technically capable and hands-on. This is not an administrative supervisor position. The individual should be able to inspect work, identify incorrect installations, coach technicians and step into the field when necessary.
Daily Production & Reporting
The Foreman will be responsible for maintaining clear visibility into onsite execution, including:
- Daily technician attendance and crew roster
- Daily toolbox/safety meetings
- Technician work assignments
- Daily production quantities
- Planned versus completed work
- SOW performed during the shift
- Material and equipment requirements
- Field blockers and dependencies
- Quality issues and remediation
- Customer instructions or scope changes
- Photos and supporting field documentation
- Next-day work plan
A clear End-of-Day (EOD) report must be provided to the Project Manager and operations team for each active shift/project.
Quality & Safety
- Enforce Verveba and customer safety requirements onsite.
- Ensure installations comply with applicable BICSI, ANSI/TIA/EIA, customer and project-specific standards.
- Maintain proper cable routing, bend radius, separation, support, dressing and workmanship requirements.
- Ensure proper telecommunications pathways, spaces, labeling and administration practices.
- Verify fiber and copper installation and testing meet applicable project specifications and acceptance criteria.
- Understand applicable standards including TIA-568, TIA-569, TIA-606, TIA-607 and TIA-942 as relevant to the project.
- Inspect technician workmanship throughout installation rather than waiting until project closeout.
- Identify non-conforming installations and drive immediate remediation.
- Verify all technicians have required PPE before beginning work.
- Conduct daily safety/toolbox discussions as required.
- Ensure installations comply with applicable BICSI, customer and project-specific standards.
- Inspect technician workmanship throughout the shift rather than waiting until project closeout.
- Identify installation defects early and coordinate immediate correction.
- Support QA/QC inspections, testing and customer walkthroughs.
- Manage punch-list and remediation activities through completion.
- Immediately escalate significant safety, quality or operational risks.
Customer & Project Coordination
- Maintain professional communication with customer supervisors and onsite leadership.
- Participate in daily coordination meetings when required.
- Communicate customer instructions accurately to Verveba technicians.
- Coordinate closely with the Verveba Project Manager regarding manpower, production, schedule and field issues.
- Escalate scope discrepancies before performing work outside the approved SOW.
- Represent Verveba professionally and maintain a strong working relationship with the customer.
Required Qualifications
- 5+ years of hands-on telecom, fiber, low-voltage or data center infrastructure experience.
- 2+ years of Foreman, Lead Technician or field supervisory experience.
- Experience supervising field technicians and installation crews.
- Strong working knowledge of fiber and structured cabling installation.
- Experience with OSP and/or ISP infrastructure.
- Experience working in Data Centers, Central Offices, MTSOs or similar mission-critical network environments.
- Working knowledge of BICSI and TIA/EIA standards and installation practices.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, floor plans, cable schedules and SOWs.
- Ability to track manpower and daily production.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work extended shifts, nights or weekends when project schedules require.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel throughout the United States.
- Ability to meet customer-specific background, drug-screening and site-access requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
- BICSI TECH, Installer, RTPM or other relevant BICSI certification.
- OSHA-10 or OSHA-30.
- Hyperscale or large-scale data center experience.
- Central Office / carrier infrastructure experience.
- High-count and ribbon fiber experience.
- Fusion splicing experience.
- OTDR/OLTS testing experience.
- MPO/MTP deployment experience.
- Rack & stack / network equipment installation experience.
- Experience leading 10–30+ technicians.
- Experience supporting multi-site or multi-market deployments.
Travel & Project Deployment Requirements
This position requires a high level of travel and field deployment.
- Approximately 80% travel is expected.
- Candidates must be willing to travel anywhere within the United States based on project requirements.
- Assignments may require remaining at a project location for several weeks or months at a time.
- Projects may include new data center construction, expansions, network upgrades, fiber deployments and other long-duration infrastructure programs.
- Schedule flexibility is required, including occasional nights, weekends and extended shifts based on customer requirements.
- Candidates must be comfortable working away from their home location for extended periods.
Candidates who are unable to support long-term travel assignments should not apply.

- Takes ownership – treats the project as Verveba's responsibility from mobilization through acceptance.

This is not a passive supervisory position. The Foreman is Verveba's onsite field leader and is expected to take ownership of the crew, daily execution and quality of the work.
The customer should not have to manage Verveba technicians. Our Foreman owns our people, our production and our field execution.
Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
