Summary of Primary Responsibilities:
Manufacturing Engineer:
This position will be responsible to provide functional support to the Maintenance and Production Teams, ensuring Continuous Improvement of our processes through the use of innovative design applications in new process improvement flow. Understanding of the total process flow will be key to the success of this position, along with the knowledge of how Quality must be built into the process to ensure a Quality part to our customer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (other duties may be assigned as designated):
· Develop and implement automated material handling systems.
· Design, build and install production equipment as required
· Utilize 2D & 3D modeling software as required.
· Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical issues with production equipment
· Work closely with maintenance, other engineering personnel and hourly workforce to resolve equipment issues
· Leads and coordinates special projects as assigned.
· Provide continuous process improvements.
· Assist with the development of new products from an equipment engineering perspective
· Create training documents for maintenance personnel
· Create work instructions for new and existing processes.
· Perform all aspects of project management including design, documentation, timing, budget and communication
· Understand and use all Maintenance programs including, drawing numbering, project management, storeroom stocking and equipment management
· Work with Environmental, Health and Safety Coordinator on engineering improvements to address safety, environmental and/or health concerns.
· Responsible for following all policies, instructions and procedures to ensure product quality and continually monitoring processes, etc. as applicable to help identify and improve current or potential quality-related issues.
· Responsible for working safely, adhering to the facility's environmental, health and safety policies and procedures and continually monitoring the work environment to identify and communicate to supervisor/manager current or potential environmental, health or safety concerns.
· Support with duties of Department Manager where applicable
· Responsible to review, understand and follow all documents in the QMS System
· All other duties as assigned.

Education and/or Experience:
· 3-5 Years Manufacturing Experience
· Associates Degree, or higher in an Engineering related field or equivalent experience
· PLC programming and troubleshooting capabilities
· Electrical skills for design, build, installation and operation of machine electrical controls
Other Qualification and Skills Required:
· Ability to work with basic mathematical equations. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
· Ability to utilize various software packages including but not limited to Microsoft Office software (EXCEL, WORD, OUTLOOK), ERP system, and other internal systems.
· Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
· Understanding and Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing Principles
