Key Responsibilities
1. Costing, Stock Valuation & Profitability Analysis
- Manage and review costing systems, inventory valuation, and stock reporting.
- Prepare monthly stock valuation for work-in-progress (WIP) and finished goods.
- Review cost allocations for materials, production costs, and factory overheads.
- Analyze product profitability by product group, customer, and contract, identifying margin issues and cost variances.
2. Management Reporting & Budgeting
- Prepare management reports and product group P&L statements.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis activities.
- Monitor production cost trends, cost drivers, inventory movements, and abnormal variances.
- Recommend cost control and business improvement initiatives.
3. Financial Controls & Payment Review
- Review payment proposals and supporting documents.
- Verify invoices, purchase orders, delivery orders, and receiving documents.
- Strengthen internal controls and governance processes.
4. Accounting & Compliance
- Oversee month-end closing activities and accounting records.
- Review reconciliations, accruals, provisions, and financial schedules.
- Support statutory audits and financial statement preparation.
- Liaise with auditors, tax agents, and regulatory authorities.
- Review tax computations and ensure compliance with filing deadlines.
5. Inventory Management
- Review inventory adjustments, write-offs, and stock movements.
- Monitor slow-moving and obsolete inventory.
- Work closely with operations, procurement, and warehouse teams to ensure inventory accuracy.
6. Risk Management & Compliance
- Coordinate insurance renewals and claims administration.
- Maintain insurance schedules and coverage reviews.
- Ensure compliance with company SOPs, ISO standards, and Energy Management System requirements.
7. Leadership & Team Management
- Supervise and develop finance team members.
- Delegate tasks and monitor performance.
- Support departmental planning and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Undertake additional duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- Education & Professional Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA, CPA, or equivalent is preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant finance and accounting experience.
- Experience in manufacturing, oleochemicals, refinery, or similar industrial environments is an advantage.
- Hands-on experience in costing, inventory valuation, budgeting, and financial analysis.
- Strong knowledge of Cost accounting and product costing

- Malaysian taxation (Income Tax, SST, Withholding Tax)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and accounting/ERP systems.
