About The Role
We are seeking a dedicated Inventory Coordinator to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for managing and maintaining the integrity of our inventory system, ensuring accurate stock levels, and facilitating smooth procurement and distribution processes. The Inventory Coordinator will work closely with various departments, including procurement, maintenance, and customer service, to support operational efficiency and cost management. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong organizational skills and the ability to analyze inventory data to make informed decisions. The successful candidate will play a vital role in reducing inventory discrepancies, optimizing stock levels, and contributing to the overall success of our maintenance operations. Qualifications
The ideal candidate will possess an associate’s degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school, or a combination of education and relevant experience. Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in inventory management software are essential. Candidates should demonstrate excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment. Prior experience in inventory control, procurement, or supply chain management within an industrial setting is preferred. A solid understanding of basic math and the ability to interpret data and reports are necessary to succeed in this role. Additionally, candidates should be organized, self-motivated, and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the integrity of inventory and ensure timely restocking of items to meet operational demands.
- Process repairs for stock, manage storage, timestamp repair parts, and coordinate the delivery of components to technicians for repairs.
- Control inventory and material from vendors, maintaining adherence to department budgets. Propose adjustments to stock and reorder levels for optimal inventory management.
- Monitor stock levels, process requisitions, and enter order and stocking data into tracking systems. Expedite late material orders and verify order statuses.
- Maintain a cross-reference system for parts to ensure efficient usage and track nonconforming parts for quality control.
- Collaborate with department managers and supervisors to ensure inventory levels stay within budgetary constraints.
- Assist with resolving inventory discrepancies, participate in semi-annual physical inventories, and coordinate with accounting and auditors to ensure accuracy.
- Participate in training programs related to purchasing professionalism, supervisory skills, and management development.
- Source and evaluate vendors capable of supplying plant-level services, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
- Follow up on overdue orders, implement activities to reduce POE, and address invoice issues promptly.
- Establish and maintain a cost reduction program, reporting results to management to support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Assist Customer Service and Operations teams with parts transactions within the system.
- Place warranty claims with OEMs for defective parts, ensuring timely replacements.
- Contribute to Service/Quality initiatives by continuously improving processes, monitoring performance metrics, and adhering to safety procedures and core values.
