RPG Developer / IBM i Software Engineer
About the Role:
We are looking for an experienced RPG Developer to join a dynamic development team responsible for core financial and insurance application systems. In this role, you will lead end-to-end development, handling system upgrades, maintenance, and new features for mission-critical core systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain core business applications using RPGLE and Free Format RPG.
- Perform end-to-end development from requirement analysis to full implementation.
- Work with IBM DB2 databases, writing and optimizing embedded SQL queries.
- Maintain, support, and modernize legacy systems while integrating modern interfaces and APIs.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and analyze business processes to deliver scalable solutions.
Requirements
- Experience: 2+ years of hands-on experience in RPG programming (RPGLE / Free Format).
- Databases: Solid knowledge of IBM DB2 and proficiency in SQL query development.
- Core Systems: Proven background in maintaining, developing, and modernizing legacy application systems.
- Strong business process understanding and analytical problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications (Nice to Have)
- Hands-on experience or familiarity with APIs and Web Services integration.
- Prior experience in the financial or insurance sector.
- Exposure to or interest in integrating AI tools into software development processes.
