About The Role

The Payroll Advisor position at NCC Group is a vital role within our finance and HR teams, responsible for managing the end-to-end payroll process for approximately 1,100 employees based in the UK. This is a 12-month fixed-term contract located in Manchester, offering a hybrid working environment that combines flexibility with the opportunity to collaborate in person. The role involves accurately processing payroll transactions using Workday, ensuring compliance with UK legislation, and supporting payroll audits. The Payroll Advisor will serve as a point of contact for employees regarding payroll inquiries, providing professional and timely assistance. Additionally, the role includes responsibilities such as issuing P45s, reconciling payroll data, and managing pension contributions, auto-enrolment, and monthly submissions. The ideal candidate will bring prior payroll experience, especially with Workday, and possess a strong understanding of UK payroll laws and regulations.

Qualifications

To be successful in this role, candidates should possess a minimum of three years of payroll processing experience, ideally with expertise in Workday software. A comprehensive knowledge of UK payroll legislation and compliance standards is essential. Candidates must demonstrate excellent attention to detail and accuracy, along with strong communication skills to interact effectively with employees at all levels. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is required for data analysis and reporting tasks. Previous experience working within a corporate finance or payroll department is highly desirable. Candidates should hold a CIPP (Chartered Institute of Payroll Professionals) certification, reflecting their professional commitment and expertise in payroll management.

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities of the Payroll Advisor include processing the UK payroll for approximately 1,100 employees accurately and on time, handling all payroll transactions such as new hires, terminations, and variable payments. They will reconcile payroll data to ensure consistency and compliance with UK regulations, addressing any discrepancies promptly. The role involves responding to employee inquiries related to payroll matters with professionalism and clarity, ensuring a positive employee experience. The Payroll Advisor will collaborate closely with HR and Finance teams to maintain accurate payroll data, support pension contributions, auto-enrolment procedures, and monthly submissions to relevant authorities. Additionally, the role includes issuing P45s, supporting payroll audits, and ensuring legislative compliance across all payroll activities. The successful candidate will also assist with pension processing and ensure that all payroll adjustments are correctly implemented and documented.
