IT Support Specialist / Site IT Lead | Columbus, OH (On-site) | $80,000-$110,000 + Benefits
A growing organization is seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist to act as the primary on-site technology resource for a recently integrated business unit in the Columbus area. This is an excellent opportunity for a hands-on IT professional who enjoys supporting end users, troubleshooting technical issues, and serving as the local face of IT while working closely with a larger corporate technology team.
This position combines help desk support, desktop administration, AV support, user administration, and general IT operations responsibilities in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day desktop and end-user support across the site
- Configure, deploy, maintain, and troubleshoot laptops, desktops, printers, scanners, and related hardware
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, operating system, and application issues
- Create, modify, and terminate user accounts and computer access
- Support Microsoft 365, Teams, Active Directory, Entra ID, and related technologies
- Assist with backup, restore, and data archiving activities
- Perform regular software updates and patching
- Support conference room and audiovisual technologies, including meeting room systems
- Troubleshoot VPN connectivity and remote access issues
- Coordinate with centralized infrastructure and security teams on escalated issues
- Participate in local and company-wide technology projects and implementations
- Maintain accurate documentation and follow established IT procedures
Required Experience
- 3-5 years of IT support, desktop support, or systems administration experience
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Experience supporting Windows environments and Microsoft technologies
- Working knowledge of:
- Active Directory
- Microsoft 365
- Entra ID / Azure AD
- VMware environments
- Networking fundamentals
- Endpoint hardware and software support
- Experience supporting AV and conference room technologies is highly desirable
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
