We are hiring a Sr. SDET/SQA Analyst to support large-scale Big Data product development. The team develops and maintains data-intensive applications operating in an on-premises environment (not AWS, Azure, or GCP) due to client data sensitivity requirements. The environment leverages Big Data frameworks and processes terabytes of data.

Responsibilities
- Create and contribute to test plans, test scenarios, test cases, and test data
- Review application specifications and requirements
- Execute manual application testing and analyze results
- Identify, document, and track defects through resolution
- Partner with developers to troubleshoot and resolve issues
- Collaborate with Product Owners and engineering teams to ensure quality objectives are met
- Coordinate with onsite and offshore teams to support project delivery
Ideal Candidate Profile
- Background supporting Big Data products, analytics platforms, or data engineering environments
- Experience testing systems that process large-scale datasets (TB-level data volumes)
- Comfortable working in highly collaborative, stakeholder-facing environments
- Proven ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining quality standards
- Manual Testing
- Demonstrates detailed thinking when creating test scenarios from requirements.
- Can identify positive, negative, boundary, and edge test cases.
- Clearly explains test coverage and validation approach.
- API Testing
- Able to answer both manual and automated API testing questions.
- Understands API validation, request/response testing, error handling, authentication, and test automation approaches.
- SQL
- Able to explain SQL concepts and write queries independently.
- Demonstrates data validation skills, joins, aggregations, filtering, and troubleshooting capabilities.
- Automation
- Able to complete UI automation coding exercises for a given scenario.
- Demonstrates proficiency with automation frameworks, scripting, and test design.
Additional Expectations
- Must be able to write code/methods for UI automation scenarios.
- Must be able to write code/methods for API testing exercises.
Below are role requirements.
- Expertise in software test automation with experience in a variety of testing tools. This position is for someone who can write and execute both automation and manual Test Scripts/Cases
- Proficiency in Java and/or Python.
- Knowledge of professional software engineering practices and best practices for the full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operation
- Experience developing automated tests to ensure regression coverage for ETL jobs
- Experience with Test Complete or Protractor or Selenium and/or Behavior Driven Development (BDD) using Gherkin / Cucumber.
- Experience with JMeter, Rest Assured, Ready API, SoapUI
- Experience with verification of complex software applications in all phases of development life cycle including planning, inputs, design, implementation, and testing.
- Actively contribute to creating project test plans, scenarios and data that satisfy the project requirements as well as organizational quality standards.
- Review and analyze application specification/requirements.
- Write and execute manual application-level test cases and procedures and analyze the results.
- Report defects and work with developers to resolve them.
- Work closely with product owners and developers to meet SQA commitments and align delivery priorities with business objectives.
