## About the Role

Raytheon is seeking a **Software Engineer II** to join its software development team in **Tewksbury or Woburn, Massachusetts**.

The role involves developing, integrating, testing, and supporting complex software and systems solutions for aerospace and defense applications. You will work within collaborative, cross-disciplinary integrated product teams and apply **Agile software development, continuous improvement, software integration, and system testing** practices.

This is an **onsite U.S.-based position** requiring an active U.S. government **Secret security clearance**.

## Key Responsibilities

* Participate in collaborative, cross-discipline integrated product teams

* Apply Agile software development techniques to develop, test, and integrate complex software and systems solutions

* Support software development for aerospace and defense applications

* Participate in Agile execution and continuous improvement initiatives

* Collaborate with Systems and Integration Test Engineers to analyze, implement, and test systems

* Contribute to software solutions supporting Battle Management, Command & Control, Communications, Effectors, and Surveillance and Warning systems

* Work collaboratively with engineering teams to solve complex technical problems

* Contribute to the development and integration of mission-critical software in a fast-paced environment

## Required Qualifications

* Bachelor’s degree in **Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related STEM discipline**

* **2+ years of relevant experience** in software development, software integration, and/or software testing

* Experience using **C++, C#, Java, or a similar programming language**

* **U.S. citizenship** is required because the position requires eligibility for a U.S. government security clearance

* Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government-issued security clearance

* **Active and existing DoD Secret security clearance required after day one**

## Preferred Qualifications

* Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills

* Ability and willingness to learn new technologies and tools

* Experience working in Agile environments, including:

* Scrum

* Scrum@Scale

* SAFe

* Test-Driven Development (TDD)

* DevSecOps

* Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment with time-critical requirements

* Experience contributing to teams developing creative solutions to difficult technical problems

* Experience with integrated development and engineering tools such as:

* Azure

* Git

* Atlassian Suite

* Jenkins

* Eclipse

* Ansible

* Experience working with **continuous integration and continuous development (CI/CD) pipelines**

* Knowledge of **Red Hat and/or Linux operating systems**

* Exposure to **Open Systems Architectures**

* Knowledge of modular design principles

## Compensation

* **$68,900–$131,100 USD**

* The salary range is a good-faith estimate covering applicable experience levels

* Final compensation considers factors including role, responsibilities, experience, location, education/training, and skills
