About The Role
You'll build and scale cloud-native backend services that power our AI-native platform on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
You'll design and develop production-grade APIs, event-driven microservices, and backend systems that integrate with
LLMs, AI agents, and modern cloud services.
This role requires strong backend engineering experience in Python and/or TypeScript, hands-on experience building
applications on GCP, and familiarity with AI-native development workflows using tools such as Claude Code. You'll
leverage AI frameworks, reusable skills, MCP servers, and modern AI engineering practices to accelerate software
delivery while maintaining high engineering standards.
You'll work closely with Platform Engineering, AI Engineering, and Product teams to build secure, scalable, and highly
reliable backend systems.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable backend applications using Python and/or TypeScript.
- Build production-grade REST and/or gRPC APIs and cloud-native microservices.
- Design and implement event-driven architectures using modern messaging systems.
- Build and deploy applications on Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Nuaav India Private Limited
- Design and optimize data models and backend services for performance, scalability, and reliability.
- Integrate backend applications with cloud services, external platforms, and AI capabilities where appropriate.
- Implement secure authentication, authorization, and service-to-service communication following cloud security
best practices.
- Build automated tests and contribute to CI/CD pipelines, observability, and production support.
- Adopt AI-native engineering practices using AI-assisted development tools, reusable skills, specifications, and
modern AI frameworks to improve engineering productivity.
- Collaborate with Product, Platform, Security, and Engineering teams throughout the software development
lifecycle.
Requirements
- 4+ years of professional backend development experience.
- Strong programming experience in Python and/or TypeScript (Node.js).
- Experience building backend applications using frameworks such as FastAPI, Flask, Django, Express.js, or
NestJS.
- 2+ years of hands-on experience building and deploying production applications on Google Cloud Platform
(GCP).
- Experience with core GCP services such as Cloud Run, Cloud SQL (PostgreSQL), Pub/Sub, BigQuery, Cloud
Storage, Secret Manager, IAM, and Service Accounts.
- Strong understanding of REST/gRPC APIs, microservices, event-driven architectures, asynchronous
programming, and distributed systems.
- Experience implementing secure authentication and authorization using OAuth2/OIDC and JWT.
- Experience integrating modern AI capabilities into applications using services such as Vertex AI, Gemini,
OpenAI, Anthropic, or similar.
- Familiarity with AI-native development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, GitHub Copilot, or similar.
- Understanding of modern AI engineering concepts, including AI agents, tool/function calling, structured
outputs, MCP (Model Context Protocol), and contemporary AI development frameworks.
- Experience with Docker, Git, CI/CD, automated testing, and application observability.
Nice to Have
- Open-source Python contributions
- Experience with Kubernetes (GKE), Terraform, or Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience with Redis, Neo4j, vector databases, or other modern data technologies.
- Experience building AI-powered applications using RAG, agent frameworks, or workflow orchestration.
- Experience working in highly scalable, distributed cloud environments.
