Your new employer

This Federal Government organisation delivers nationally significant programs and projects that support key government priorities. Working within a collaborative team, you'll play an important role in supporting financial management, contract administration and program governance activities.

Your new role

As a Program Support Officer, you will provide finance, contract and program support to ensure projects are delivered effectively and remain compliant with government requirements.

Key responsibilities include:

- Supporting program delivery using established project management tools and processes

- Monitoring budgets, expenditure, forecasts and financial commitments

- Preparing financial reports, reconciliations and variance analysis

- Supporting budget management and periodic financial reporting activities

- Assisting with the end-to-end administration of contracts, including variations, extensions and close-out activities

- Monitoring contractor deliverables, milestones and payments

- Processing purchase requisitions, purchase orders, invoices and goods receipts through SAP

- Maintaining contract, procurement and financial records

- Preparing governance papers, dashboards, reports and briefing materials

- Supporting audit, assurance and compliance activities

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate:

- Must be an Australian citizen with a minimum of NV1 security clearance

- Experience or exposure to financial management, budgeting and reporting

- Experience or exposure to contract administration and contract management

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with reporting tools

- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills

- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

- A commitment to compliance, governance and record management

- Experience with SAP or a similar enterprise finance system will be highly regarded

- Understanding of program and project management principles
