Role Overview
A public sector client requires an experienced Business Analyst to support its Systems Development function. The role will focus on eliciting, analysing, documenting and validating business and system requirements, ensuring stakeholder needs are translated into clear and actionable deliverables for solution design and implementation.
Key Responsibilities
- Gather and validate business and technical requirements.
- Facilitate workshops and stakeholder interviews.
- Undertake current-state / As-Is assessments.
- Produce Business Requirements Specifications and functional/non-functional requirements.
- Develop As-Is and To-Be process models and workflows.
- Maintain requirements traceability throughout the delivery lifecycle.
- Support solution validation, UAT and stakeholder sign-off.
- Work closely with developers, architects, project managers and business users.
- Manage requirements changes, assumptions and dependencies.
- Produce clear documentation and communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Essential Experience & Skills
- 4-6 years' Business Analysis experience.
- Strong requirements elicitation and workshop facilitation skills.
- Business process modelling and current-state assessment experience.
- Experience producing business and functional requirements specifications.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Experience with requirements traceability and solution validation.
- Proven delivery experience on business change or technology projects.
- Ability to work effectively within multidisciplinary software delivery teams.
Mandatory Requirements
- Degree in IT, Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent.
- Fluent English.
- Available from the required commencement date.
- Able to work minimum 40% onsite
Engagement: Part-time, up to 150 days per year in agreed blocks
Contract: 2 years, with possible extensions
Experience: 4-6 years' substantial professional experience
Reporting to: Systems Development Manager
