Position Overview
You will work very closely with the client's technical team developing and supporting our product line of aesthetic medical laser systems.
They are a Silicon Valley-based pioneer in laser, light, and energy technologies for aesthetic and medical applications. Their engineers helped bring laser products to market just a few years after lasers were first invented, and that same spirit of innovation still drives us today.
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to contribute to the development of advanced medical and laser-based electronic systems. This role will be responsible for designing and developing electronic hardware from initial concept through testing, validation, production, and ongoing product support.
The engineer will work closely with software, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality teams to develop reliable electronic systems for regulated medical products. The position requires someone who remains highly hands-on with circuit and PCB design, embedded hardware development, system integration, and troubleshooting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electronic hardware from initial concept through production, including circuit design, simulation, analysis, testing, and validation.
- Design complex, multilayer printed circuit boards using Altium Designer.
- Develop embedded electronic hardware using ARM-based microcontrollers and microprocessors.
- Design electrical interconnects, system wiring, and wiring harnesses.
- Perform prototype bring-up, hardware integration, debugging, troubleshooting, and system-level testing.
- Participate in verification, validation, regulatory, and product compliance activities.
- Evaluate and select electronic components based on performance, reliability, cost, availability, and product lifecycle considerations.
- Partner with software, mechanical, manufacturing, and quality engineering teams during new product development/NPI and sustaining engineering activities.
- Support prototype assembly, laboratory testing, troubleshooting, and SMD-level rework when required.
- Provide technical support throughout the complete product development lifecycle.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) required.
- 10+ years of hands-on electrical/electronic hardware engineering experience.
- Extensive experience with PCB design using Altium Designer.
- Strong experience designing embedded hardware around ARM microcontrollers or microprocessors.
- Experience developing FDA-regulated medical devices or comparable regulated medical electronic products.
- Strong understanding of electronic product development from concept through production.
- Experience working with multidisciplinary engineering teams.
- Strong hardware troubleshooting, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
