Job Summary
- This role is primarily responsible for conducting all metallurgical laboratory activities to support daily production, repair development, and process investigation requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Perform quality control testing in the laboratory for daily production, repair development processes, and process investigations (e.g. thermal spray coating microstructure evaluation, welding hardness testing, tensile strength testing, etc.)
- Maintain laboratory database to track test samples issued, received, and corresponding evaluation results
- Ensure proper storage, documentation, and traceability of all test coupons and evaluation records
- Maintain Safety Data Sheet (SDS) database for all chemical products used in the laboratory
- Responsible for maintenance, servicing, and cleaning of laboratory equipment
- Ensure good housekeeping practices are consistently maintained in the laboratory
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations and policies
- Coordinate and prepare samples for submission to external testing laboratories as required
- Perform other duties as assigned by Supervisor
Requirements
- Diploma or Higher NITEC in Engineering
- Minimum 2 years of experience in a metallurgical laboratory with knowledge of aerospace materials and control of metallurgical processes
- Able to read and interpret work orders and perform in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Willing to perform rotating shift work
- Able to wear required PPE, including respirator, safety shoes, and safety glasses
