About The Role
Nightwing is seeking a highly skilled AI/ML Engineer to join our team in supporting a U.S. Government customer dedicated to incident response and cybersecurity operations. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing automation solutions that enhance machine learning technology integration, streamline workflows, and improve operational efficiency. This role involves creating automated data pipelines, integrating AI/LLM models with cloud platforms, supporting malware analysis platforms, and automating repetitive technical tasks. The AI/ML Engineer will collaborate closely with analysts and technical teams to identify automation opportunities, optimize system performance, and ensure the integrity and security of data processes. This position offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to mission-critical cybersecurity efforts and advance cutting-edge automation technologies within a dynamic environment.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate must possess U.S. citizenship and an active Secret clearance, with TS/SCI clearance preferred. Ability to obtain Department of Homeland Security (DHS) Entry on Duty (EOD) suitability is required. A minimum of 5 years of experience in automation engineering, data engineering, or software development is essential. Candidates should have demonstrated expertise in designing data ingestion pipelines on AWS, configuring and tuning AI/LLM models, and developing machine learning pipelines. Strong programming skills in Python, along with experience in data manipulation libraries, are necessary. Familiarity with Amazon Bedrock, automation frameworks, orchestration tools, APIs, databases, version control (Git), and CI/CD practices is also required. Candidates should exhibit excellent problem-solving, analytical, documentation, and communication skills. A degree in Computer Science, Data Science, or a related field is preferred, or equivalent experience with 7+ years of relevant work history. Certifications such as DoD 8140 IAT Level III, CSSLP, or Syndeo: ESS-3610 are desirable.
Responsibilities
- Develop automated data pipelines to facilitate machine learning technology integration initiatives.
- Create automation workflows for malware sample collection, detonation, and taxonomy classification.
- Implement AI/LLM integrations with cloud services such as Databricks, ensuring seamless model deployment and API connectivity.
- Automate data integration processes between pilot projects and production systems to ensure consistency and scalability.
- Support the development and enhancement of Automated Malware Analysis (AMA) platforms.
- Develop scripts and tools to automate repetitive technical tasks, reducing manual effort and increasing efficiency.
- Automate data transformation, normalization, and feature engineering processes to facilitate data preparation for machine learning models.
- Design and implement monitoring and alerting automation for integrated systems to ensure operational stability.
- Create API integrations to enable data sharing and workflow automation across various platforms.
- Document automation solutions thoroughly and maintain code repositories to ensure maintainability and knowledge sharing.
- Support the scaling of automation solutions from pilot environments to full production deployments.
- Optimize automation workflows for performance, reliability, and security.
- Collaborate with analysts and stakeholders to identify automation opportunities and implement effective solutions.
- Ensure all automation processes maintain high data quality and integrity standards.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of automated capabilities through feedback and technological advancements.

Compensation for this role ranges from $99,000 to $206,000, commensurate with experience and expertise.
