About The Role
The HR Generalist at Weldall and Companies plays a vital role in supporting the organization’s human resources functions. Reporting directly to the HR Manager, this position is designed to serve as a trusted resource for employees and management alike, ensuring smooth HR operations across various departments. The role emphasizes employee relations, recruitment, onboarding, benefits administration, HRIS management, and employee engagement initiatives. A significant component of the role involves building strong relationships across the organization through regular interaction, especially within the manufacturing environment, to promote a positive and compliant workplace culture. The HR Generalist is expected to demonstrate a servant leadership mindset—listening attentively, supporting proactively, and following through diligently to help employees and leaders succeed.
Qualifications
- An associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Minimum of two years of human resources experience, preferably within manufacturing, industrial, or skilled-trades settings.
- Proven experience in employee relations, recruiting, onboarding, and other core HR functions.
- Working knowledge of HR practices and employment regulations to ensure compliance and best practices.
- Experience with HRIS systems (Paylocity preferred), applicant tracking systems, and timekeeping tools.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to organize, prioritize, and follow through effectively.
- Discretion, sound judgment, and the ability to handle sensitive situations professionally and confidentially.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Interest or certification in HR (such as SHRM-CP or PHR) is a plus, with a desire to pursue professional development in HR.
Responsibilities
Employee Relations & HR Support
- Act as a visible and approachable HR resource for employees and supervisors, fostering open communication.
- Address employee questions and concerns related to policies, benefits, workplace expectations, and employment matters.
- Assist with employee relations issues, investigations, corrective actions, and documentation to ensure fair and consistent handling.
- Support supervisors with routine HR inquiries and processes, providing guidance and support.
- Promote a culture of fairness, engagement, and retention by identifying opportunities for improvement in communication and employee satisfaction.
- Maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when managing sensitive employee and company information.
Recruiting & Onboarding
- Manage daily recruiting activities for both hourly and salaried positions, including job postings, sourcing, screening, and interview coordination.
- Collaborate with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and candidate qualifications.
- Develop and maintain relationships with technical schools, workforce agencies, staffing firms, and community organizations.
- Participate in job fairs, career events, and outreach initiatives to attract qualified candidates.
- Coordinate onboarding activities, including orientation sessions, documentation, and communication with relevant departments.
- Follow up with new hires to ensure a smooth transition and successful integration into the company.
HR Administration & Benefits
- Maintain accurate employee records, HRIS data, and personnel files, ensuring data integrity and compliance.
- Assist employees and managers with HRIS, timekeeping, and benefits-related inquiries.
- Support benefits administration processes, including enrollment, qualifying life events, and open enrollment periods.
- Help prepare payroll and HR reports, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Ensure proper documentation and recordkeeping for all HR activities and compliance requirements.
Training, Engagement & Company Programs
- Coordinate employee training initiatives, tracking certifications and compliance requirements.
- Support workforce development programs, including apprenticeships and skill-building activities.
- Assist in performance management processes and employee reviews.
- Contribute to employee recognition, engagement activities, and internal communications.
- Help plan and execute company events, celebrations, and employee functions, managing logistics and participation.
- Support HR projects, process improvements, compliance activities, and other initiatives to enhance organizational effectiveness.
