Medical Laboratory Technologist (MLT)
Position Summary
Russell Tobin is seeking experienced and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technologists (MLTs) for healthcare facilities across British Columbia. This role offers the opportunity to work in hospital and diagnostic laboratory settings, performing complex laboratory testing and contributing to accurate patient diagnoses and treatment plans.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and specialized laboratory testing in areas such as Hematology, Chemistry, Transfusion Medicine, Microbiology, and Urinalysis.
- Analyze, interpret, and verify laboratory test results.
- Operate, calibrate, troubleshoot, and maintain laboratory instruments and equipment.
- Ensure specimen integrity and adherence to quality control standards.
- Prepare and process patient samples according to established laboratory protocols.
- Maintain accurate laboratory records and documentation.
- Follow laboratory safety, infection prevention, and quality assurance procedures.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to support patient care.
- Participate in proficiency testing and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
Qualifications
- Graduate of a recognized Medical Laboratory Technology program.
- Active registration and good standing with the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC (CHCPBC) or eligibility for registration.
- Current CSMLS certification.
- Minimum one year of recent Medical Laboratory Technologist experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures, instrumentation, and quality management systems.
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Position Details
- Assignment Length: 4-13 weeks (extension opportunities available)
- Location: Multiple locations across British Columbia including Prince George, Terrace, Quesnel, Sechelt, Smithers, Prince Rupert, Burns Lake, Hazelton, and surrounding communities (On-site)
- Schedule & Shifts: Full-time hours; Day, Evening, and Night shifts based on facility requirements
