# Senior Business Analyst – Duck Creek Policy (Remote)

## About the Role
C&F is seeking a Senior Business Analyst to join the Surplus & Specialty Lines (SSL) Digital Services team. The role supports the Underwriting, Claims, and Billing & Collections business units and contributes to the planning, design, development, and launch of efficient business, financial, and operations systems.
The Senior Business Analyst will work with business and IT stakeholders to gather and analyze requirements, improve business processes, support system implementations, and deliver technology solutions. The role requires an advanced understanding of insurance workflows and systems, with strong experience supporting policy systems such as Duck Creek.
SSL underwrites admitted and non-admitted business across General Liability, Auto, and Excess/Umbrella lines of business and serves multiple industry verticals, including Contracting, Transportation, Energy, Security, and Environmental.
## Key Responsibilities
### Strategy & Planning
* Participate in meetings with business stakeholders to identify business, financial, and operational goals, priorities, system requirements, and existing issues.
* Participate in roadmap planning activities as required.
* Collaborate with business and IT stakeholders to plan, design, develop, and deploy new applications and enhancements to existing applications.
* Facilitate or lead design sessions to prototype systems that improve business processes, operations, and information flow.
* Review the effectiveness and efficiency of user experiences for existing systems and develop strategies for improvement or further utilization.
* Establish and manage the scope and parameters of systems analysis to define predictable outcomes and action plans.
* Research third-party software products to support purchase-versus-build decisions.
* Analyze existing and potential issues in operating systems and processes and recommend appropriate solutions or alternatives.
### Execution & Delivery
* Collaborate with project teams to establish and manage project timelines, delivery milestones, and communication plans.
* Develop systems models, requirements specifications, diagrams, and charts to guide development and quality assurance teams.
* Track and manage issues, including probable causes and viable solutions.
* Collaborate with Digital Services teams to ensure compatibility and interoperability of in-house computing systems.
* Coordinate application testing, including quality assurance, performance testing, end-user acceptance testing, and post-implementation support.
* Provide documentation, training materials, orientation, and training to end users for modified and new systems.
## Required Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree.
* 5+ years of specialized experience working as a Business Analyst supporting policy systems such as Duck Creek.
* Extensive experience overseeing the design, development, and implementation of insurance software solutions, systems, or products supporting underwriting, financial, or claims applications.
* Strong knowledge of Duck Creek Policy or similar platforms.
* Experience delivering end-to-end insurance product implementations and enhancements.
* Good understanding of the Property & Casualty (P&C) insurance domain.
* Demonstrated project management skills.
* Strong analytical and creative problem-solving abilities.
* Excellent written and oral communication skills.
* Excellent listening and interpersonal skills.
* Ability to research systems issues and products as required.
* Ability to communicate ideas in both technical and user-friendly language.

## Preferred Qualifications
* Commercial or Specialty Insurance experience.
* Prior Binding Authority underwriting experience is strongly preferred.
