Position Summary
We are currently recruiting a Customer Service Clerk. This full-time position pays $20.00 per hour and is located in Miramar, FL.
The Customer Service Clerk provides front-facing customer service to residents in a walk-up service area. This position assists residents with opening and closing utility accounts, answers questions regarding utility bills, addresses customer concerns and complaints, completes data entry for work orders, and responds to customer service tickets received through email.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities

- Assist residents face-to-face in the Customer Service walk-up area.
- Assist residents with opening and closing utility accounts.
- Answer resident questions regarding utility bills, account information, and related services.
- Address customer complaints and concerns in a professional and courteous manner.
- Enter and update information accurately for work orders.
- Monitor and respond to customer service tickets received through email.
- Maintain accurate customer and account information in applicable systems.
- Provide clear and helpful information to residents while maintaining a positive customer service experience.
- Perform data entry and other administrative tasks as needed.
- Utilize Microsoft Excel and other computer systems to complete daily responsibilities.
- Maintain confidentiality of customer and account information.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Ability to interact professionally and respectfully with residents in a face-to-face setting.
- Strong verbal, written, and listening communication skills.
- Ability to handle customer questions, concerns, and complaints calmly and professionally.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy when entering and updating information.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.
- Basic computer and data-entry skills.
- Ability to manage multiple customer requests and administrative tasks.
- Ability to work independently; must be self-motivated.
- Ability to understand and adhere to the duties, methods, and procedures required by the position.
- Bilingual communication skills are preferred but not required.
Education And Experience
- High School diploma or equivalent, required.
- Previous customer service, administrative, data entry, utility, or office experience is preferred.
- Experience working directly with the public or providing face-to-face customer service is preferred.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting and/or standing while working in a customer service environment.
- Ability to use a computer, telephone, and standard office equipment for extended periods.
- Ability to communicate effectively with residents in person, by telephone, and through written correspondence.
