Engineering Lead - Berlin -Hybrid
About the Company
We're partnering with an established health-tech company to help them find an Engineering Lead for their Berlin based team.
Responsibilities:
- Lead and mentor a small team of engineers, supporting their technical growth and day-to-day delivery
- Set technical direction and best practices across the backend, including architecture and microservices design
- Stay hands-on with code — contributing directly to development, code reviews, and key technical decisions
- Take ownership of code quality, efficiency, and system stability across the team's output
- Guide the deployment and operation of scalable, stable infrastructure
- Drive engineering standards, testing practices, and technical process improvements
- Work closely with cross-functional, agile teams to align technical delivery with product goals
- Have a direct hand in shaping the success of the product
Must-have:
- Strong experience with PHP
- Solid MySQL experience
- Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience deploying and operating production systems
- Strong understanding of MVC architectures
- Track record of unit testing and driving testing culture within a team
- Proven experience leading or mentoring a team of engineers
