Data Architect
We're looking for an experienced Data Architect to design and deliver scalable, high-quality data solutions that support business and analytical needs across a large retail environment.
Working closely with Product Owners, Engineers, and the wider Architecture team, you'll own data modelling standards, design robust data architectures, and ensure solutions align with business requirements and long-term strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and maintain enterprise data models and architecture.
- Assess new business requirements and estimate impacts to existing data models.
- Develop and enhance logical and physical data models.
- Own data modelling standards and ensure best practice across delivery teams.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Architecture teams to deliver scalable data solutions.
- Document and govern data models to ensure consistency and quality.
- Promote modern data architecture and modelling best practices.
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven experience as a Data Architect or Senior Data Modeller.
- Strong experience with Data Warehousing and end-to-end analytical architecture.
- Expertise in data modelling methodologies including 3NF, Dimensional Modelling, and Data Vault.
- Experience designing solutions for large, complex datasets.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions.
Preferred Skills
- Experience within a retail or large enterprise environment.
- Knowledge of modern cloud data platforms.
- Understanding of Machine Learning and modern data engineering concepts.
- Experience influencing engineering and product teams on data design best practices.
- Familiarity with data governance and enterprise architecture frameworks.
