Role: Senior GIS Developer / Modernisation Specialist
Location: Brisbane (Northside) — 50% Hybrid WFH
Engagement: Contract (October 2026 – May 2027)

Rate: $650-$900 per day plus super (Depending on experience)
About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled GIS Developer to lead the modernisation of large-scale interactive mapping solutions for a major Queensland Government department.
In this contract role, you will be instrumental in migrating legacy Geocortex applications over to VertiGIS Studio Web, refactoring custom .NET/C# integrations, and upgrading enterprise spatial web applications to ensure long-term platform sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
- Application Migration: Lead the migration of legacy Geocortex Essentials applications, viewers, and workflows to VertiGIS Studio Web.
- Workflow Modernisation: Rebuild and extend business processes using VertiGIS Workflow Designer (Workflow 5).
- ArcGIS Enterprise Management: Assess, rationalise, and configure ArcGIS Enterprise content, including Web Maps, Feature Services, Portal items, security models, and web service integrations.
- Full-Stack Refactoring: Refactor existing custom .NET / C# application code and REST APIs to integrate seamlessly with ArcGIS Enterprise and VertiGIS.
- End-to-End Delivery: Produce technical designs, execute SIT/UAT testing, perform deployments, and resolve defects across production environments.
Key Requirements
- VertiGIS & Geocortex Ecosystem: Proven hands-on experience with VertiGIS Studio Web, VertiGIS Workflow Designer, and legacy Geocortex Essentials.
- Esri Enterprise Stack: Deep working knowledge of ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal, ArcGIS Server, ArcGIS Pro), Feature Services, and Web Map administration.
- Software Engineering: Strong proficiency in Microsoft .NET / C#, JavaScript / TypeScript, HTML5, and CSS.
- Database & APIs: Experience with SQL, PostgreSQL / PostGIS, REST APIs, and enterprise web service integrations.
- DevOps: Working knowledge of Git source control, deployment pipelines, and testing frameworks.
Highly Desirable Skills
- Experience developing ArcGIS Server Object Interceptors (SOIs) and custom security extensions.
- Proficiency with VertiGIS Printing & Reporting.
- Hands-on experience with FME spatial ETL data integration pipelines.
- Knowledge of spatial reference systems, including GDA94 to GDA2020 datum transformations.
