Role: Solution Architect – Legacy Systems Integration & Data Migration
Work Type: Contract (6 Months Initial)
Daily Rate: $950 – $1,200/day inc. super (DOE)
Location: Brisbane (Hybrid / Flexible)
About the Role
Our Queensland Public Sector client is embarking on an enterprise modernisation initiative to replace legacy core systems with a modern, cloud-native SaaS environment, transitioning toward an enterprise Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) platform architecture.
We are seeking a hands-on Solution Architect to lead the complex technical transition. Instead of configuring the vendor GRC platform itself, you will sit on the client side to map out current-state architectures, engineer data extraction pipelines from legacy/undocumented databases, and architect secure integration patterns connecting legacy systems to the new SaaS platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct deep-dive current-state analysis and reverse engineering across legacy, fragmented, and custom databases.
- Design robust Data Migration Architecture (ETL/ELT) to extract, clean, map, and load legacy data into staging environments and future-state SaaS repositories.
- Architect secure, event-driven, and API-led integration patterns (Azure API Management, Kafka, RESTful APIs, Pub/Sub) connecting core enterprise systems to the incoming platform.
- Design master data management (MDM) and information architectures to ensure data integrity, lineage, and compliance across systems.
- Collaborate with enterprise architecture boards, government stakeholders, and implementation vendors to align on solution design and transition architectures.
About You
- Data & Integration Expertise: Strong background in data modeling (UML, E-R), database reverse-engineering, and complex data migration strategies.
- SaaS Integration: Proven track record architecting integration layers between legacy environments and modern cloud/SaaS platforms.
- Public Sector or Financial Services Context: Experience working within Queensland Government frameworks (QGEA, TOGAF) or complex, regulated environments across Banking, Financial Services, or Insurance (BFSI).
- Hands-on Technical Approach: You are comfortable digging into the detail of system dependencies, database schema mapping, and ETL workflows.
- Nice to Have: Prior exposure to enterprise GRC, Risk, or IRM SaaS platforms (e.g., ServiceNow IRM, Protecht, OneTrust, or RSA Archer) is a bonus.
