Job Description
We are seeking a hands-on Business Data Analyst contractor who is a creative problem solver with a passion for delivering advanced, data-driven solutions. This role will work alongside Product Managers, Marketers, and other cross-functional partners to help grow the business.
The Business Data Analyst will leverage industry-leading analytics tools, techniques, and best practices to perform quantitative analysis, develop data visualizations, and translate complex data into meaningful business insights that support key decision-making across the organization.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Perform advanced quantitative analysis to support business initiatives and decision-making.
- Develop data-driven solutions to complex business problems.
- Partner with Product Managers, Marketers, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
- Query and analyze large datasets using SQL.
- Develop data visualizations and business-facing dashboards.
- Translate complex technical and analytical findings into clear insights for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Utilize analytics tools, techniques, and best practices to support business growth.
Required Experience/Skills
- 4+ years of experience with quantitative analysis.
- Experience with a major dialect of SQL, including MySQL, PostgreSQL, or similar.
- Experience with data visualization.
- Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to explain complex technical topics to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with Tableau or similar Business Intelligence (BI) software.
- Experience with Python or a similar high-level programming language.
- Experience with R or similar statistical analysis software.
Nice-to-Haves
Additional technical experience with one or more of the following is a plus:
- Hadoop
- HDFS
- Hive
- HBase
- MapReduce technologies
- Large-scale MPP systems such as Vertica or Redshift
- Tableau
- MySQL

Education
Bachelor's or Master's degree in an appropriate quantitative field, such as:
- Computer Science
- Statistics
- Applied Mathematics
- Econometrics
- Operations Research
