Who we are
We're a stealth, VC-backed deep-tech startup building an AI-powered intelligence platform for complex hardware systems engineering. We pull design, lab, manufacturing, and field data into a single, physics-grounded decision layer, so engineering teams can actually understand, diagnose, and optimize how their systems behave in the real world, not just in simulation.
What this role is
You'll join as our board design domain expert, bringing deep hands-on experience in how complex PCBs are architected, designed, debugged, validated, and brought to production, and translating that expertise into product capabilities and customer requirements.
You'll bring the complex hardware challenges you know from the field into the product, helping define the core methods it's built on so that board and hardware engineers across many teams can design faster and and achieve better performance. You'll work closely with our HW, SW, and AI engineers to shape the product, impacting how hardware engineers work with AI.
What you'll do
- Define the board-level concepts we model, such as stackups, interfaces, PDN, high-speed routing, and constraints, and how they map to data and product features.
- Work directly with customers to understand their schematics, layouts, and design artifacts, dig into their real pain points, and turn them into crisp, buildable product requirements.
- Define the core design methods and reasoning the product is built on, so that deep board-design expertise becomes something every engineer who uses the platform can apply to their own designs.
Requirements
- BSc/MSc in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
- Deep, hands-on PCB design experience on complex products, including schematic capture, multilayer stackup design, high-speed routing, controlled impedance, and constraint management.
- Strong understanding of the full board lifecycle: design, bring-up, SI/PI, validation, manufacturing and DFM, through NPI and field.
- Fluency with ECAD tooling and DRC (Cadence Allegro, Altium, Siemens Xpedition, or similar).
- A builder's instinct: you've designed, debugged, and shipped real boards end to end.
- Comfort collaborating closely with SW and ML teams and translating board-design reality into product.
- Clear written communication and pragmatic, self-directed execution in a fast-moving startup.
Nice to have
- Background in AI compute, networking, automotive, or data-center hardware.
- Advanced packaging, dense high-layer-count boards, or high-volume ramp experience.
- Prior experience as a domain expert at an early-stage startup, or as a customer-zero engineer for an engineering platform.
Why join us
You'll work on real, unsolved problems in modern compute systems, alongside a small, senior team and some of the world's leading technology companies. Exceptional ownership, direct customer impact, and the chance to define a brand-new product category.
