Role Overview
We are seeking a hands-on Technical Sales Manager for compute services, from high-performance bare metal GPU clusters to fully managed serverless inference (token-based), across different sectors from AI-native companies to more regulated enterprises and countries in Europe. You will own a territory and book of business, combining technical depth with commercial drive to identify opportunities, shape solutions with our software teams, and close deals. This role is for a doer: someone as comfortable in a technical design session as in a C‑level negotiation, who thrives on building pipeline and turning it into revenue.
Key Responsibilities
- Contribute to the Go-To-Market (GTM) strategy prioritization.
- Own the full sales cycle for PCC’s AI compute portfolio (bare metal GPU, containerized workloads, managed and serverless inference), from prospecting to contract signature and expansion.
- Build trusted relationships with technical and business stakeholders (CIO/CTO, Head of AI/ML, infrastructure leads, compliance and procurement).
- Qualify and prioritize opportunities by deeply understanding customer workloads, data constraints, model strategy, and TCO requirements, then translating them into concrete solutions with our technical and software teams.
- Work closely with Solution/Software Architects to design architectures that span on-prem and cloud-like PCC deployments, including sizing, topology, performance targets, SLAs, and pricing structures.
- Drive complex, multi-stakeholder sales motions in enterprise and public-sector accounts, including RFP/RFQ responses, pilots/POCs, and framework agreements.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline through outbound prospecting, events, partners, and existing relationships, with clear forecasting, rigorous deal qualification, and disciplined CRM hygiene.
- Collaborate with technology partners (ISVs, SIs, model/API providers, tooling vendors) to create joint value propositions and co-selling motions around GenAI/ML workloads on PCC infrastructure.
- Gather structured feedback from customers on performance, features, and roadmap needs and feed it back into product and operations teams.
- Represent PCC at industry events, conferences, and customer workshops, clearly articulating our differentiated value at the intersection of energy, sovereign AI, and distributed compute.
- Contribute to scalable sales assets (customers engagement blueprint, playbooks, ROI/TCO calculators, pitch material, use-case one-pagers) and continuously improve how we position and sell.
Requirements
- BS/MS in business, computer science, engineering, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years of experience in sales for compute, cloud, or AI infrastructure services, with ownership of pipeline creation and revenue delivery.
- Proven track record of closing complex technical deals, ideally in AI/ML, cloud, HPC, or infrastructure-as-a-service environments.
- Deep experience selling GenAI/ML technology solutions with strong understanding of the underlying GenAI/ML technology stack (models, frameworks, GPUs, storage, networking, orchestration).
- Strong technical curiosity and ability to dive deep into customer architectures and workloads, engaging confidently with engineers and data scientists.
- Track record of building rapport with senior Executive-level stakeholders at customers and internally.
- Solid influencing skills to drive the business agenda in partnership with internal and external stakeholders, and experience working with cloud-based or hybrid technologies.
- Experience of working with Technology Partners (Software Vendors, System Integrators, model providers) in the data & GenAI & AI/ML space.
- Solid Consultative Sales / Business Development experience in software-technology environments with pipeline creation and revenue delivery responsibilities and proven direct field experience with customers.
- Strong experience in Technical Sales, driving sales cycles and opportunity closure; this is a quota-carrying role.
Nice to Have
- Strong customers network in AI compute
- Gen AI/ML certificates or diploma
- Knowledge of data platform concepts (data lakes, feature stores, vector DBs, MLOps) from both a business and technical angle
- Experience selling to regulated or sovereignty-sensitive customers (public sector, finance, healthcare, critical infrastructure.
What Success Looks Like
- You build and maintain a healthy, qualified pipeline of customer opportunities where our compute services can power their AI workloads.
- You consistently close opportunities against clear commercial targets, contributing meaningfully to overall revenue for your segment.
- Customers see you as a trusted advisor who helps them match their AI workloads with the right compute solutions and get to production faster.
- Internal teams value your input because you bring sharp customer insights that help refine how we position, price, and package our services.
- You operate with strong ownership and follow-through, reliably moving deals from first conversation to signed agreement and successful initial deployment.
