Senior Software Engineer – Robotics
Onsite role 5 days per week (Methuen, MA)
Join a dynamic team dedicated to developing a complete surgical robotic system. This role involves designing and developing robotics control and safety supervisor software for medical devices, sustaining released surgical robotic systems, and ensuring compliance with software development procedures and quality systems.
Responsibilities include contributing to software design verification and validation, maintaining design history file software documents, and assisting with regulatory documentation. The position requires a passion for software craftsmanship, test-driven development, and the ability to work both independently and within agile teams. Occasional attendance at surgical cases is expected to understand clinical workflows and end-user requirements.
Qualifications:
- Proactive, autonomous mindset with strong problem-solving skills
- Bachelor’s degree with 7 years or master’s degree with 5 years in a similar role, preferably in medical devices or life sciences
- Strong object-oriented C++ development skills (C++17 and later)
- Hands-on experience with Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC), particularly KUKA KSS-based systems and SIMATIC PLCs, reflecting current industry automation trends.
- Test-driven programming experience
- Ability to travel up to 5% of the time and attend cadaver labs and surgeries
