About The Role
We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Data Scientist to join our Data Science team within the Platform group. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for owning the pricing experimentation and strategy for Coinbase's Consumer and Business products. Your expertise will directly influence key business decisions by designing and analyzing pricing tests, developing models to identify optimal strategies, and communicating insights to executive leadership and cross-functional teams. This position offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of data science, product development, and strategic planning, shaping the future of our pricing frameworks and contributing to the company's growth and innovation.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in data science, with a focus on pricing experimentation, causal inference, and statistical modeling
- PhD preferred, or Master's degree in Economics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field
- At least 5 years of experience leading pricing or experimentation workstreams, including designing A/B tests and building predictive models
- Proficiency in SQL and Python or R for data analysis, pipeline development, and statistical modeling
- Proven ability to independently scope, execute, and deliver complex analytical projects across multiple teams
- Experience in developing and maintaining data pipelines and data models for analytics purposes
- Strong communication skills with the ability to synthesize complex findings into clear, actionable insights for senior leadership
- Experience with responsible use of generative AI to enhance workflow efficiency and decision-making
Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end pricing experimentation, including test design, analysis, and strategic recommendations
- Build and refine pricing models and evaluation frameworks to determine optimal pricing strategies across consumer products
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, and Finance teams to develop and prioritize pricing vision and roadmaps
- Develop, optimize, and maintain robust data pipelines and models that support pricing analytics with high-quality craftsmanship
- Analyze complex data sets, interpret results, and present insights in a clear and impactful manner to executive leadership
- Stay informed of industry trends and incorporate innovative analytical techniques to enhance pricing strategies
- Ensure responsible use of AI tools to improve workflows, accuracy, and decision-making processes
