About The Role
We are seeking a driven and mission-focused Software Developer to join our elite team based in Herndon, VA. In this pivotal role, you will contribute directly to innovative projects that support the Intelligence Community, helping to protect our country from emerging threats. The successful candidate will work closely with a team of talented Software Developers, Data Engineers, and System Engineers to develop and enhance software solutions that have a national impact. This position offers an exciting opportunity to grow your expertise in a fast-paced environment, participate in cutting-edge projects, and make a significant difference in national security efforts. You will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining high-quality software components, ensuring they meet the stringent requirements of government agencies.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma and 7+ years of experience in software development
- 3+ years of recent experience developing with Python
- Experience in SQL and database management
- Experience in front-end / full stack development
- Experience with Version Control Systems such as Git (preferred)
- Experience with containerization tools such as Docker or Kubernetes (preferred)
- Knowledge of RESTful API development and integration (preferred)
- Understanding of Linux/Unix operating system environments (preferred)
- Experience with Agile development methodologies, daily SCRUM, and JIRA (preferred)
- Experience working with Node.js (preferred)
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins or GitLab CI (preferred)
- Knowledge of cloud services such as AWS or Azure (preferred)
- Active/current TS/SCI with Polygraph security clearance
Responsibilities
- Understand project requirements and design software components accordingly
- Research and develop innovative software concepts, including proof-of-concepts and demos
- Collaborate with team members to understand existing product features and identify areas for improvement
- Develop automated unit and integration tests to ensure software quality and reliability
- Participate actively in code reviews, providing constructive feedback and adhering to best practices
- Engage in the agile development process, including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives
- Communicate effectively with fellow developers and occasionally with end-users to gather feedback and clarify requirements
- Maintain documentation of software design, development processes, and system configurations
- Stay updated with the latest industry trends and incorporate new technologies as appropriate
