About the Role
We’re looking for a Principal Data Scientist, Mobility Intelligence to help define the future of predictive intelligence across Damoov’s platform and products.
This role sits at the intersection of data science, machine learning, behavioral analytics, product innovation, and business strategy. You will lead the development of advanced models, analytical methodologies, and intelligence frameworks that transform large-scale telematics and mobility data into actionable insights used by customers around the world.
You’ll work closely with Product, Engineering, Data Science, Customer Solutions, and Executive Leadership teams to shape the next generation of driver intelligence, risk analytics, safety scoring, mobility insights, and AI-powered products.

What You’ll Do
- Lead the development of advanced machine learning models, predictive analytics frameworks, and intelligence products across Damoov’s platform
- Design methodologies that improve driver scoring, risk assessment, safety analytics, incident prediction, and behavioral intelligence
- Conduct research into emerging analytical techniques, machine learning approaches, and data science innovations
- Analyze large-scale telematics and mobility datasets to identify patterns, predictive signals, and new product opportunities
- Partner with Product teams to define and prioritize intelligence-driven product capabilities
- Collaborate with Machine Learning Engineers and Data Platform teams to operationalize models and scale production systems
- Establish best practices for experimentation, model validation, performance measurement, and scientific rigor
- Communicate findings and recommendations to technical teams, executive leadership, and customer-facing stakeholders
- Mentor data scientists and contribute to the development of analytical capabilities across the organization
- Influence long-term AI, machine learning, and data science strategy across the company
- Help identify new opportunities to leverage data and intelligence as competitive differentiators
What We’re Looking For
- Significant experience in data science, machine learning, predictive analytics, applied research, or a related field
- Deep understanding of statistical modeling, machine learning, experimentation, and analytical methodologies
- Strong programming skills in Python, R, or similar analytical environments
- Experience developing predictive models and analytical systems using large-scale datasets
- Ability to balance scientific rigor with practical business outcomes
- Strong problem-solving and critical thinking capabilities
- Experience influencing product strategy and business decisions through data-driven insights
- Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences
- Ability to lead through influence and collaborate across multiple teams
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment
Nice to Have
- Experience in telematics, mobility technology, transportation, insurance analytics, geospatial systems, IoT, or connected vehicle ecosystems
- Experience with driver behavior modeling, risk analytics, claims prediction, fraud detection, or safety intelligence
- Familiarity with machine learning production environments and MLOps practices
- Experience publishing research, developing proprietary methodologies, or contributing to advanced analytical innovation
- Experience mentoring data scientists and influencing technical strategy
- Experience working in a startup or scaling technology company
