About The Role
As a Data Innovation Lab professional at AXA, you will play a pivotal role in harnessing the power of data and artificial intelligence to generate tangible business value. You will be part of a dynamic, interdisciplinary team comprising Data Scientists, Software Engineers, and Business Experts dedicated to developing cutting-edge AI solutions. Your primary focus will be on transforming promising AI experiments into stable, operational systems that support the long-term digital transformation of our insurance business. Positioned within the "AI Business Capabilities" unit, you will collaborate closely with other teams to ensure the reliable deployment, operation, and continuous improvement of AI systems, including MLOps, LLMOps, and Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence core business processes by integrating AI-driven solutions seamlessly into our operational landscape, thus enabling smarter decision-making and enhanced customer experiences.
Qualifications
To excel in this role, candidates should possess strong programming skills in Python, with experience in frameworks such as FastAPI, Pydantic, Pydantic AI, Celery, Polars, PyTorch, and Transformers. A solid understanding of deploying and operating AI solutions in production environments using tools like Docker, Kubernetes, Helm, and cloud platforms such as AWS is essential. Familiarity with MLOps and LLMOps practices, along with monitoring tools like Grafana and OTEL, is highly desirable. Candidates should demonstrate a willingness to learn about insurance processes to develop contextually relevant AI applications. Experience in developing workflows based on large language models, including agent design and prompting strategies, is a plus. Proficiency in SQL and Typescript can be advantageous. A commitment to sustainable software development practices, including Test-Driven Development, clean code, and code reviews, is expected. Additionally, candidates should have a track record of building projects from initial idea to operational stability, showcasing problem-solving skills, technical versatility, and business acumen.
Responsibilities
Your core responsibilities will include supporting project teams during the transition of AI experiments into production environments, ensuring smooth deployment and operational stability. You will identify commonalities across different AI applications to design reusable software components, services, and infrastructure, promoting efficiency and scalability. Continuous exploration of new topics and complex IT landscapes will enable you to connect technical expertise with business understanding, crafting practical solutions for operational units. You will also be responsible for operating, monitoring, and optimizing in-house developed machine learning and AI applications, including performance tuning, incident management, alerting, and ensuring site reliability. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to implement best practices in deployment, monitoring, and maintenance of AI systems will be a key part of your role. Your proactive approach will help maintain high availability, performance, and security standards for our AI solutions, directly impacting business outcomes and customer satisfaction.
