The Role - AI Assisted Software Developer
Our client builds software with AI coding agents. Claude Code and Codex are how
we work every day, not an experiment running alongside the real development.
We are hiring up to four full-stack developers, working remotely in Mexico, to build
production software for United States clients in industrial IoT, inventory management,
aviation, and drilling. You will work alongside the rest of our client's team.
Beyond writing application code, we build AI harnesses, agents, and tool-calling workflows
— the systems that make AI reliable enough to put in front of clients. Experience building
agents, harnesses, or evaluation frameworks is a significant advantage and will weigh
heavily in our review.
This is hands-on full-stack development. It is not QA, support, or data annotation work.
Hands-on Claude Code experience is required. Candidates should arrive
comfortable working with Claude Code day to day and able to discuss how they get
reliable results from it. Experience with Codex or Cursor alongside it is welcome, but
Claude Code itself is the requirement. This is central to how the team works and is
not something you will learn on the job.
What You'll Do
- Apply AI coding agents to production code as part of the daily development workflow.
Build AI harnesses, agents, and tool-calling workflows that make AI features reliable in
production.
- Build features across the stack — interfaces, application logic, APIs, and database work.
- Review AI-generated output for correctness, security, and maintainability before it
reaches production.
- Design and integrate REST APIs and third-party services.
- Work in Git and GitHub — branches, pull requests, code review — as normal daily
practice.
- Write clear documentation in English that keeps projects understandable as they grow.
- Take a defined piece of work to completion with limited day-to-day supervision.
Technologies You'll Work With
- CORE C#, Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, SQL
- DATABASES SQL Server, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB
- CLOUD Azure, AWS
- AI TOOLING Claude Code, OpenAI Codex, Cursor, model APIs
- WORKFLOW Git, GitHub, CI/CD, automated testing
- Familiarity with all of this is not expected. Strength in the core languages plus the capacity to
learn the rest on the job is the standard.
What You Need
- Hands-on experience with Claude Code. This is a required qualification. Codex or
Cursor experience in addition is a plus, but does not replace it. Copilot-style
autocomplete does not substitute.
- Two to five years of professional software development experience.
- Strong skills in at least two of C#, Python, or JavaScript/TypeScript.
- SQL and relational database design with PostgreSQL, MySQL, and/or SQL Server —
schema design, table relationships, primary and foreign keys, constraints, and indexing.
This is an essential qualification, not a preference.
- REST API design and experience integrating third-party services.
- Git and GitHub with a pull request and code review workflow.
- Working experience in at least one cloud environment, Azure or AWS preferred.
- Deploying code to production, including CI/CD pipelines. You have shipped code
through an automated build and deploy process, not only written it.
- Professional working proficiency in written and spoken English. You will join calls
with the US team and occasionally with US clients, and will write documentation in
English.
- Legal authorization to work in Mexico.
- Based in Mexico. This role is remote, so you do not need to live in Guadalajara or
relocate.
Nice to Have
- Evaluation and tracing frameworks for measuring AI reliability.
- Automated testing and test-driven workflows.
- Building AI agents, harnesses, MCP servers, or multi-agent workflows. This is the
strongest differentiator for this role.
- Anthropic Claude certifications, including Claude Certified Architect —
Foundations (CCA-F). Certified candidates will be ranked highly.
- Industrial systems, IoT, inventory management, or supply chain software.
- Experience across multiple AI coding tools with an informed assessment of their
respective strengths and limitations.
Location and Engagement
- This role is remote. You can work from anywhere in Mexico. There is no in-office
requirement and no relocation to Guadalajara.
- Full-time contract engagement. FieldBridge Energy is the contracting entity of record;
you will work as part of the SplitStep team.
- Working hours align with United States Central Time so the team overlaps with clients
and colleagues in Houston.
- No travel or US work authorization required.
- Compensation depending on experience. Details provided during the hiring process.
About our Client
Our client is a Houston, Texas based AI consulting and implementation firm. We build
software and AI-enabled systems for clients in industrial IoT, RFID and inventory
management, aviation, and drilling.
The Mexico team is a core part of how we deliver that work, not an outsourced back office.
Engineers here work on production client software, participate in technical decisions, and
work directly with the US team.
How to Apply
Apply through FieldBridge, who manages hiring for this role.
Tell us what you think is worth knowing about your work. Links to things you have built are
always welcome. A formal cover letter is not required.
Candidates who move forward will complete a short written screening from
FieldBridge, then be asked to record a short Loom demo (roughly five to ten minutes)
showing how they work with Claude Code on a real task. This happens before any
interview.
FieldBridge is a recruitment firm hiring directly for this role. No agencies or third-party recruiters, please. Unsolicited candidate submissions or outreach will not be considered.
