General Manager

MAU is seeking an experienced and highly motivated General Manager to lead a large-scale customer operation. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader with a strong ownership mindset who thrives in fast-paced warehouse, logistics, or distribution environments.
As the General Manager, you will serve as the senior MAU leader on-site, acting as a trusted business partner to customer leadership while overseeing operational performance, safety, workforce planning, continuous improvement, and employee engagement. Success in this role requires someone who can confidently make decisions, communicate effectively at all levels, and take full ownership of results.

What You'll Do
Lead the Business Like an Owner
- Take full accountability for site performance across safety, quality, delivery, staffing, training, retention, productivity, and cost.
- Drive operational excellence while continuously identifying opportunities for improvement.
- Anticipate risks, develop action plans, and proactively address challenges before they impact the business.
- Balance short-term execution with long-term strategic planning.
- Utilize key performance metrics to drive decision-making and ensure achievement of customer and company goals.
Build Strong Customer Relationships
- Serve as the primary point of contact for senior customer leadership.
- Develop trusted partnerships by understanding business needs and delivering consistent results.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, from frontline associates to executive leadership.
- Lead monthly and quarterly business reviews with customer and MAU leadership teams.
- Ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded while maintaining alignment with MAU objectives.
Inspire and Develop Teams
- Lead, coach, and develop supervisors, trainers, and operational support staff.
- Build a culture of accountability, engagement, collaboration, and recognition.
- Provide regular coaching and performance feedback to drive development and results.
- Partner with recruiting teams to ensure workforce plans support operational demands.
- Foster an environment where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to succeed.
Champion Safety and Operational Excellence
- Lead with safety as the top priority and promote a culture focused on achieving Zero Accidents.
- Partner with safety leadership to ensure compliance with OSHA standards and customer-specific requirements.
- Support the development and execution of safety programs, training initiatives, and safe operating procedures.
- Utilize Lean principles and continuous improvement methodologies to improve operational performance.
- Ensure department metrics consistently meet or exceed established targets.
Manage Critical Issues and Escalations
- Serve as an on-call leader for operational, personnel, and safety-related emergencies.
- Make sound decisions quickly in fast-paced and sometimes ambiguous situations.
- Lead conflict resolution efforts and support incident investigations when needed.
- Escalate issues appropriately while maintaining ownership for driving resolution.

Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED and 5+ years of experience in a warehouse, distribution, logistics, or manufacturing environment.
- 3+ years of leadership experience managing operations and teams.
- Experience managing customer relationships and operational performance metrics.
- Working knowledge of workforce planning, staffing, safety, and process improvement.
- Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
- Basic safety program and compliance experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree.
- Lean Green Belt certification.
- Root Cause Analysis training.
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
- Experience with Blue Yonder and SAP.
- Continuous Improvement, Quality, or Lean Manufacturing experience.
Leadership Responsibility
- Oversight and direction for shift supervision and 20-40 hourly associates.

Work Environment or Working Conditions
The working conditions and environments are created by our customers’ facilities both in administrative areas and manufacturing environments. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets, and fax machines. Customer sites sometimes include process manufacturing equipment and heavy power industrial vehicles. Environments may vary from non-temperature-controlled environments to GMP clean room required.
Physical Demands
This position may require the following to be performed with or without reasonable accommodation:

- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
Travel
This position requires up to 5% travel.
