Role Description This is a full-time Python with Playwright Automation Test Engineer (QA, 6+ Yrs) role based in the Greater Bengaluru Area, offered in a hybrid model with partial work-from-home flexibility. The role involves designing, developing, and maintaining automated test frameworks and test suites using Python and Playwright for web applications. The engineer will collaborate closely with product, development, and DevOps teams to define test strategies, create test plans, and ensure high-quality releases across logistics workflows and integrations. Day-to-day responsibilities include writing and executing automated and manual test cases, performing regression and integration testing, identifying defects, analyzing root causes, and contributing to continuous improvement of QA processes and tooling. The role also includes building CI/CD-compatible test pipelines, improving test coverage, documenting test results, and mentoring team members on best practices in automation and quality engineering.
Qualifications
- Strong experience (6+ years) in QA automation using Python, including designing and maintaining test frameworks and reusable test components.
- Hands-on expertise with Playwright (or similar modern web automation tools) for end-to-end, functional, and regression testing of complex web applications.
- Solid understanding of software testing principles, including test design techniques, API testing, integration testing, and performance testing basics.
- Proficiency with CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI) and version control (Git), integrating automated tests into build and deployment pipelines.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and participating in sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Familiarity with logistics, eCommerce, or SaaS platforms is an advantage, especially testing multi-carrier integrations and transactional workflows.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills, with the ability to interpret logs, debug failures, and provide clear, actionable defect reports.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to document test cases, test results, and technical details in a clear and structured manner.
