Senior Accounts Payable Specialist

We're looking for an experienced Senior Accounts Payable Specialist to join a growing finance team within an established business.
Reporting directly to the Finance Director, you'll take full ownership of the Accounts Payable function, managing the day-to-day AP process while acting as a key point of contact for suppliers and internal stakeholders.
This is a great opportunity for an experienced AP professional who enjoys taking ownership, working independently and having a real impact on the finance function.
The Role
You'll be responsible for:
- Taking full ownership of the Accounts Payable function
- Processing and posting high-volume supplier invoices
- Managing supplier statements and resolving discrepancies
- Completing supplier and nominal ledger reconciliations
- Managing supplier queries and maintaining strong relationships
- Preparing and processing payment runs
- Posting journals and maintaining accurate financial records
- Supporting month-end close and reconciliations
- Assisting with audit queries and finance reporting
- Identifying opportunities to improve and streamline AP processes
- Supporting the Finance Director and wider finance team with ad-hoc requirements
About You
- 3+ years' experience in Accounts Payable
- Strong understanding of the full AP lifecycle
- Experience with supplier reconciliations and month-end
- Strong Excel and accounting systems experience
- Xero experience advantageous
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- Confident dealing with suppliers and internal stakeholders
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently
- Strong communication skills
- Must have the right to work in Ireland
