About the Opportunity
HummingBird is hiring a Head of Recruitment on behalf of its client, a leading technology company based in Chennai.
We are looking for an experienced and strategic Head of Recruitment to lead the organization's talent acquisition function. The role will be responsible for developing and executing recruitment strategies aligned with business growth plans, building a high-performing recruitment team, strengthening employer branding, and ensuring the organization attracts and hires top technology talent.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in technology recruitment, strong leadership capabilities, excellent stakeholder-management skills, and a proven track record of building scalable talent acquisition strategies.
Key Responsibilities
Recruitment Strategy & Leadership
- Develop and execute the overall talent acquisition strategy aligned with business objectives and workforce plans.
- Lead and manage the end-to-end recruitment function across technology and corporate roles.
- Build scalable recruitment processes to support rapid organizational growth.
- Establish recruitment goals, KPIs, SLAs, and performance metrics.
- Drive continuous improvement across sourcing, screening, interviewing, selection, and onboarding processes.
Technology Talent Acquisition
- Lead hiring for technical positions across software engineering, cloud, DevOps, data, AI/ML, cybersecurity, product, and other technology functions.
- Develop innovative sourcing strategies to attract high-quality and hard-to-find technology talent.
- Build and maintain strong talent pipelines for critical and niche technology roles.
- Leverage platforms such as LinkedIn, job portals, employee referrals, recruitment technology, and professional networks.
- Oversee senior and leadership-level hiring.
Team Management
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing recruitment team.
- Define team objectives and monitor individual and team performance.
- Coach recruiters on sourcing strategies, candidate engagement, interviewing, and closing techniques.
- Build a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous learning.
Stakeholder Management
- Partner closely with business leaders, HR leadership, and hiring managers to understand workforce requirements.
- Provide market intelligence on talent availability, compensation trends, and competitive hiring practices.
- Act as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on talent acquisition matters.
- Establish strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Employer Branding & Candidate Experience
- Develop initiatives to strengthen the company's employer brand within the technology talent market.
- Improve candidate engagement throughout the recruitment lifecycle.
- Ensure a consistent, professional, and positive candidate experience.
- Explore partnerships with technology communities, universities, professional networks, and industry forums.
Recruitment Analytics & Technology
- Establish and monitor recruitment dashboards and analytics.
- Track metrics such as time-to-hire, cost-per-hire, source effectiveness, offer-to-join ratio, quality of hire, and recruiter productivity.
- Identify recruitment bottlenecks and implement data-driven improvements.
- Drive effective adoption of ATS, recruitment automation, AI-powered sourcing, and other recruitment technologies.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- MBA/PGDM in Human Resources is preferred.
- 6–12 years of experience in talent acquisition/recruitment, with significant experience in the technology industry.
- Proven experience leading recruitment teams and large-scale hiring programs.
- Strong understanding of technology talent markets and recruitment trends.
- Experience hiring for niche and senior technology positions.
- Strong stakeholder-management and influencing skills.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership capabilities.
- Strong understanding of recruitment metrics, processes, and best practices.
- Experience working with ATS/HRMS and modern recruitment technology.
