Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced Apigee OPDK Administrator / Engineer to manage, support, and troubleshoot enterprise API platforms in a secure government environment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on expertise with Apigee OPDK, strong Linux/VM administration skills, and experience debugging complex API proxy issues. Candidates with an active GSA security clearance are required, while Top Secret (TS) clearance is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer, configure, and maintain Apigee OPDK environments across development, testing, and production.
- Troubleshoot and resolve API proxy issues, performance bottlenecks, and gateway-related incidents.
- Perform Apigee Proxy debugging to identify and resolve routing, policy, authentication, and runtime issues.
- Manage Linux-based virtual machines hosting the Apigee platform, including installation, upgrades, patching, and performance tuning.
- Monitor platform health, logs, and system performance to ensure high availability and reliability.
- Collaborate with development, infrastructure, and security teams to support API deployments and operational excellence.
- Maintain platform security, access controls, and compliance with government standards.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, operational procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
Required Skills
- Must have: Hands-on experience with Apigee OPDK (On-Premises Deployment Kit) administration and support.
- Strong experience with Apigee Proxy debugging and API gateway troubleshooting.
- Advanced Linux administration experience (RHEL/CentOS/Ubuntu).
- Strong knowledge of Virtual Machine (VM) administration and infrastructure management.
- Experience with shell scripting, system logs, networking, and server troubleshooting.
- Understanding of API security concepts, authentication, authorization, and SSL/TLS.
Required Qualifications
- Active GSA Security Clearance is mandatory.
- Top Secret (TS) Clearance is preferred but not required.
- 8+ years of experience in Linux administration, API platforms, or middleware infrastructure.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills in production support environments.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with API lifecycle management and deployment automation.
- Familiarity with monitoring and logging tools for enterprise platforms.
- Knowledge of networking, load balancers, and reverse proxies is an advantage.
