Role: Product Manager
Location: Cape Town City Centre (onsite)
We are seeking a dynamic experienced Product Manager on behalf of our client, a cutting-edge telecommunications company based in Cape Town City Centre. It's a great opportunity in a disruptive telco offering excellent remuneration packages and benefits. Working in this growing business offers excellent growth potential in a fast-paced, dynamic and performance-driven environment.
The role:
We are looking for a Product Manager to help our client identify and solve important customer and business problems.
This is a cross-functional role. Our client’s products bring together network, technology, sales, marketing, payments, support and operations, so improving the customer experience often means understanding how several parts of the business work together.
You will take ownership of meaningful customer and business problems: building the context needed to understand them properly, shaping the solution, aligning the right teams and staying close to the work until the outcome is delivered and measured.
What you’ll do:
- Build a deep understanding of our client's products, customers and customer journeys.
- Bring together data, customer feedback, research, sales insight and operational knowledge to understand what is really happening, rather than relying on the first explanation or summary.
- Separate what we know from what we assume, and understand what has been tried before.
- Identify and prioritise the right problems and opportunities, work out which levers are worth pulling, and turn them into clear propositions, requirements and measures of success.
- Create clarity on decisions, ownership and next steps.
- Stay involved through execution and make sure the final outcome solves the original problem.
- Measure what happens after launch and use those learnings to decide what we do next.
What we’re looking for:
We care more about how you think and work than your previous job title.
You may come from product, consulting, strategy, business analysis, operations, technology or another role where you have solved complex cross-functional problems.
- Be curious and investigative. Ask good questions, go to the source and understand what is really happening before jumping to solutions.
- Separate evidence from assumption. Get into the underlying data, test whether it supports the conclusion and recognise where the gaps are.
- Make complicated things simpler. Bring together different views, constraints and information and turn them into a clear recommendation.
- Have good judgement about what matters. Know when to go deep, what is worth pursuing and when there is enough information to move.
